Hello All. Staring at the sun, is a wonderful true story about the search for truth by the founder of experimental psychology, Gustav Fechner (1850). Fechner was interested in understanding how physical stimulus was related to perception. More specifically he was interested in afterimages, which is a perceptual anomaly where the sensory information coming in doesn't match our perception. To understand how the strength of sensory information effected the strength of a perception, Fechner began looking at afterimages caused by different intensities in light. Eventually coming to the sun, which he did stare at and was blinded by for a few years. He performed poorly shortly after as professor of physics at Leipzig and fell off the map. In this time he wrote some of his best poetry under the name Dr. Mises, and one day after his eyesight had been fully restored had an eureka moment, and successfully connected the physical and mental realms together in one beautiful equation which gave birth to experimental psychology. This song is Fechner's Law, to me at least. Thrice rules, seen 'em 5 times here in the D. |

| ok, so from what i can remember of a 2007 show at Cleveland's Grog Shop, Shara told an old French story about a little boy that imagined a teapot turning into a man that would torment the boy and say "i punch your nose!" and make this humorous punching gesture (if you can imagine doing the I'm a little teapot stance, with one arm at the hip in a triangle and the other is your spout. the spout does the face clobbering). | |

Conner O. is a fuktard. YOU DONT USE MARBLE TO MARK GRAVES. Marble is made from limestone, rich in calcite. This is eaten away by rain. (carbonic acid) or maybe the tombstone that withers away symbolizes how Conner's balls withered away when he wrote the song. |

as for song meanings, im gunna be the first to give it a stab. Artificial Intelligence- Descartes, couldn't account for an artificial thinker. the AI's voice is the one made of binary. "god what is it we have done" and the line about a song rising from the deeps, gives me the impression that some act of man has ruined a civilization and remnants of it are still intact (the song rising up) but all that remains after this great flood (or whatever) is the AI |

I have one more biblical reference to add to Tossed Dwarf's (Gimli) list. "We will burn but we will not burn up" This is like the fire that burns but does not consume. The one that speaks to. So it means something like to be in the presence of God. |
