It is a toughie and I think you're right about the break up, spesh when you consider 'you taste like indicating a coldness between them and 'how long will you last, forever... ' which shows the finality.
I think the line 'you never looked so beautiful' is about wnating what you can't have? Maybe it's me being a bit pervy but I thought 'It took me 14 hours to get this sore and knowing that you've never looked so beautiful' had some sexual connotation and reflected how even though she never looked so good, deep down he doesn't want her. So yeah, that's what I think...lol |

This song is totally amazing! I find it interesting that sex is described as the last LEGAL drug, because there are other 'drugs' that are legal, like alcohol and caffeine etc but I guess sexual experiences simply cannot be controlled. |

Blakazar, it makes sense that reise means arise, ever think that maybe Rammstein are a tad older than you and know more about the origins of the German language than you do? Just like the way they say birthday in Dalai Lama isn't acceptable if you learn German now (trust me I tried!)
I think uberpsycho has a point, I think this is more of an observation than a deep symbolic message!

I agree with nadjacs that it is more to do with society and the dark nature lurking underneath it all. I think it also gives us a good look at 'Mob Mentality' - the way that we are all anonymous when in a group and the guy that kicks him off the bridge is nameless/faceless and therefore capable of anything.
I really like the metaphor idea, that hadn't occurred to me but it is a valid point and possibly one that a lot of people wouldn't think of. |

'Mir ist kalt' in this context actually means 'I am frigid' I would say this is a lot about the way that we percieve ourselves - although obesity affects sex drive, it doesn't get ridof it all together. You could have the perfect body but if you lack self esteem and are depressed you would feel the same. It isn't as superficial as it may first appear. |
