| Razorlight – Up All Night Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| yeah its definatley about drugs and staying up all night on them (speed/coke?) I think him and his girlfriends doing them - come on guys, its pretty obvious in the lyrics its about drugs! | |

No he is'nt gay and the song is not about gay rights whatsoever. He is married to his childhood sweetheart and ahs been for about 24 years. But interesting analysis anyway - I think its about just taking time out from complicated ways of thinking or situations, and just breaking the situtaion or problem down into simple steps in order to deal with it and get the right result -I'm probably wrong though!! :) |

Quote from Curt about this song meaning: 'Basically the lyrics wete Roland's, in this case his experience with a girl he knew since she was very young. And she tunred up like this 18 year old gorgeous woman. There was a mixture of lust and guilt, because even at 40 or whatever, you still lust after 18 or 20 year olds but you don't take it any further cos there is too much guilt, My God, thats my child. Its a very conflicting emotion in that its like, oh my God, how sad, but then again you are grateful for it, because it is a sign of maturity' TequilaGirl - are you thinking of Emiliana Torrini the Italian/Icelandic singer that Roland produced a few years back? He is a married man as well! |

I love the lyric 'Where does the end of me become the start of you. I think anybody who has been in a particular intense relationship, where both sides are struggling to be the one in control rather than just going with the flow, can relate to that line - myself included! |

Can I just say in response to whoever said it was about homosexulaity - No it is'nt and both Curt and Roland have been happily married for many years (Roland for the last 24 I believe) Its about the struggle for power and how we are all guilty of gettign greedy and wanting too much power etc. |

coryoon - spot on description. I still find it hard to listen to this song now that they are back together which is brilliant! Its just so bitter but I'm glad that they made up. Interestingly, Curt did a response to this on his album track with his band Mayfield called 'Sun King' |

'nothing ever changes unless there's some pain' AMEN ROLAND! What a simple but so so so truthful statement! |

| Tears for Fears – Head Over Heels Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Always makes me instantly happy when I hear those opening chords!! Can really relate to this one - its a love song about being infuatated with a person and them not noticing you despite what you do! The line - I wanted to eb with you alone, and talk about the weather' is perfect cos it reminds me of that situation when you are so desperate to talk to the person you fancy, that you will talk/waffle about any old rubbish cos you are nervous or don't know what to say! the video for this is fantastic too - especially the 'look' Roland gives the librarian. Oh how I wish I was that librarian! |

| Tears for Fears – I Choose You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I agree, lovely song - I think its about coming close to losing your partner or indeed torn between two people and realise, what you lose if you leave them | |
| Tears for Fears – Mad World Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Peacethroughtheland: What an absolute stupid and disrespectful thing to say, that the song should'nt be listed under TFF cos Gary Jules did it better. Roland Orzabal wrote the song for heavens sake so of course it should be listed under TFF - its their song! Personally I think both versions are fantastic in their own right - you have to remember that TFF version was brought out in 1982 when it was all about synethsisers etc on songs. Gary Jules's is more modern but you cannot deny that the lyrics are probably some of the best lyrics ever written to a piece of music. And the fact that Roland Orzabal was only 19 when he wrote this makes it all the most special. I don't think you should see it as 'someone did it better than them' just that people do different interpretations to songs when they cover them. Its also mainly about primal scream therapy - the drerams in which I'm dying, are the best I've ever had. In primal scream therapy you are taught that in your childhood, you replace your fears with tears/crying - hence 'Tears for Fears' Oh and one more thing - the second to last lyric is wrong - its not Illogical your world, its actually Hlajeen world which is the name of the made up planet Chris Hughes said (who was their producer) during the recording. |

The lyrics to this are just amazing, what can I say and the fact Roland wrote this when he was just 19/20 'The more I talk, The more I say The less you seem to hear' perfection |

| Tears for Fears – Pale Shelter Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Roland and Curt say this was a plea to a girl's parents or something like that. Beautiful lyrics - how much can you relate to them when you are in a relationship, especially when one side feels more strongly about the person than the other. I was in a similar past relationship where my ex was cold hearted and unaffectionate and these lyrics just fitted how I was feeling superbly I love the guitar in this as well and the handclaps at the end |
|
| Tears for Fears – Shout Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Essentially about primal scream therapy or indeed m ost forms of psychotherapy. You are often encouraged to beat a cushion or similar while shouting out to release anger at yuor parents/siblings etc - hence 'Shout, Shout, Let it all out' | |
| Tears for Fears – Sowing the Seeds of Love Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
pop and political epic - it was released and written in 1989 when Britain was going a period of major change - people were getting sick of Margaret Thatcher in power and all the stiflings they had to endure. Ecstacy and house music was just starting to creep in, hence 'sowing the seeds of love' - people were starting to be nicer to each other and embrace this love culture that was starting |

| Tears for Fears – Suffer The Children Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Pain of childhjood neglect and how that has such a significant impact on life when you get older (TA psychotherapy and primal scream therapy) | |
| Tears for Fears – Woman In Chains Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Beautiful song - perfect in every way. The video depicts domestic violence which I believe to be at the heart of this song. Roland also looks very tasty in the video too! |
|
| Roland Orzabal – Lowlife Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Fantastic track - I love the production on it. I think its about drugs and Roland casually observing a girl getting high at the weekend - or even maybe heroin addiction (The vein gets tight) and how she is in the grip of addiction and can't see a way out. |
