Those are WAY off. Here's another stab at it. Everyone makes the same wave at the same time Like petals on water And they call all those into the dim light Sons and daughters A community So let’s join hands in song Blessed community But brother I don’t want to know ya, I don’t even want to know ya Sister, I don’t want to know ya, I don’t even want to know ya But we’re trapped, in this lovely mess Hold you close and smile, fake Like they do way out west So many men are sent for, so many heads and I help you clean the skeletons from under your bed But, I don’t even know ya, how could it be me that sends you Darling, didn’t yo’ momma tell you not to let no stranger bend you Probably someone here that could help to mend you But it’s not me Got my own anxiety Sadness isn’t any way to explain You’ll probably crash heads through out Possibly slain It’s as simple as the way you wear your umpire shoes And your righteous face (I’m faithful) But all I know is your blues Ain’t like my blues And why would they ever be If there’s one commonality, it’s that that feeling is mutual Given time you’ll see You’ll see |

I have done more drugs than most people. Plenty of acid, mushrooms, and of course weed. This song is about weed. That is obvious. |

Treadmill powertrip strikes me as a more sophisticated metaphor than a girl with a nice body. I think the point is that the nature of the powertrip is such that it doesn't allow any actual progress, which I believe someone pointed out already. That does strike me as having political undertones, but the rest of the song makes me think its more about the fundamentals of human nature/interaction that about the war in wherever. |

I want to say that its something at least close to "burn the empty sky I see, I blot out every memory" or "burn the empty sky and sea, I blot out every memory" |

| I'm almost positive that it is not "young" but "yon" in both of the instances at the beginning of the song, and not just because he is speaking quickly, but rather because they intended it that way. | |

Why has no one questioned the use of the name "Nathan?" From Wikipedia: "The Nathan the Prophet was a seer who lived in the time of King David and his wife Bathsheba. His actions are described in the Books of Samuel, Kings and Chronicles (see especially, 2 Samuel 7:2-17, 12:1-25.) Nathan wrote histories of the reigns of both David and of Solomon (see 1 Chronicles 29:29 and 2 Chronicles 9:29), and was involved in the **music of the temple** (see 2 Chronicles 29:25). In 1 Kings 1:8-45 it is Nathan who tells the dying David of the plot of Adonijah to become king, resulting in Solomon's being proclaimed king instead.**" **possibly a reference? |
