The way I interpret this is that I believe its about a girl that told him the cliche line "Its not you, its me". She said she needed her space and "its gone on and on and on". BUT, the way I see it, I think she said that because she believes he is too dark ("black") and insensitive ("hollow") and too emo. Just a thought.

Simply put, I think this song is about how a girl he thought was the one for him fucked him over purposefully. Now she is living the life that he once thought he wanted to live. And in the end all he can do is look back at one specific day and dream of tragedy taking its place on that day. |

With the first verse, I think he is talking about being a musician and an artist in these day and times.
The second and third verse Im not too sure how to interpret that into my assumption of what this song means.
And the final verse compliments the first verse. He cant decide if what hes writing is something amazing, and unique and special to him or just what everyone wants to hear. And the only reason he does what he does is because he enjoys it. |

Id have to say that this song is about something thats already taken place in his life. Hes just recapping what his most vivid memories are with that person.
Snugglesmug sparked my theory with his thoughts on the last line. This song was written for someone, and I think that last line capitalizes on that. Its something that is only between him and her. |
