| Johnny Cash – Sunday Morning Coming Down Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"On a sunday mornin' sidewalks wishing Lord that I was stoned" i get that one. sometimes its just easier to be stoned, and sometimes you just cant get stoned, and so you wish you were because you just feel better. |
| Elliott Smith – Needle in the Hay Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song is totally about drugs. "So leave me alone You ought to be proud That I'm getting good marks" to me means that yeah sure, hes addicted to drugs, but he's still doing just fine and so he wants everybody to leave him alone about the drugs. at least, that's what i take it as. |
| Rilo Kiley – Jenny, You're Barely Alive Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"Something to mute, change, or just distract you Something to put inside you to give the illusion of life" sounds like drugs to me. |
| Kind of Like Spitting – Holding Patterns Lyrics | 18 years ago |
the beginning, getting high the day their ashes were spread, is ironic because the person died of a drug overdose, so how do they deal with it? get high. "When you called us three days later We all knew you were high We all knew you were tired" the person was on a lot of drugs when they called, but they didn't think anything bad would happen. at least, probably nothing as bad as said person dying. |

| Tilly and the Wall – The Freest Man Lyrics | 18 years ago |
in an interview, kianna basically confirmed that is was about conor. & some minor corrections: This boy I know, he has a heart of glass It is gold inside but it has crystallized It is beautiful, but in its tragedy It is hard to hold without shattering He calls himself out nightly, softly over chords Keeps coming back to it, his voice and echoed chords Till the sound's so thick it turns the sky to smoke And of the greyest days the predictions told But this boy I know, he is pure of soul He just gets lost sometimes in his chemicals Under a coat of night, it's all so comforting And that first breaking light becomes his enemy He calls so late tonight, it is 4 a.m. He is drunk and can't find his apartment I don't like how it feels when I think of him All hooded in black, lost and stumbling The days start to fade out of the frame Like they're blurring into someone else's name You try your hardest to rewind the tapes But you're prepared every day To make the same mistakes Step out of that life It's nowhere near your time Just remember you called it all bullshit Well, it is and if you stop giving into it You can walk away the freest man This boy I know lives in a bell jar It is balancing up on its pedestal He's trying not to upset the weight of conscious Afraid it's so far to fall if no one catches him But I've been there too and I swear to god If I can help you, please, you gotta tell me how I know you've been away and it can break you down And I don't want you gone All the cracks you see can be repaired And if you start to fall, we will be there Don't drown yourself in all your old regret Because that heaviness will steal away your breath Step out of that life It's nowhere near your time And don't forget you called it all bullshit It still is and if you stop giving into it You will walk away the freest man Shake your head Loosen your grip Raise up your fist You are the freest man Open your mouth Scream it out loud Forget all your doubt You are the freest man |

| Hannah Montana – The Best of Both Worlds Lyrics | 18 years ago |
im 18 & i love hannah montana. i also love a lot of other bands that are totally different. music is all about appreciation. if you're not willing to experience different sorts of music, then you're missing out & you're the one who looks like a close-minded asshole. &&sparkle, most of that is not punk. |

"When I still thought of love as a risk I could take If I was willing to make the commitment to rejection The mind games, the deception The late nights under the covers Pointing the finger at whoever started Whatever we were fighting about" sounds kind of like my current...'relationship' |

| Rilo Kiley – Annoying Noise of Death Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| "annoying noise of death" is the part after "troubadours" on "troubadours/the annoying noise of death." there are no words to it. | |

| Tilly and the Wall – Forget the Feeling Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this song has a lot of versions to it (i know i have at least three different recordings), the one posted being from the WFMU recording, but these are the lyrics to the one on the 7": been waiting to form a line to be honest in what i say i stopped moving on i built a frame of glass around your face a season of silence passed days of dust upon your photograph if all i have are faded memories how can i write your story i remember the melody of a song but the words always escape my head stripped to the plot of a book i read i recall your face, but forget the feeling i lost everything of yours but a ring i have nothing to give back to you all i have is what i make all i have is a song that i can sing the clouds gather past your house it's dust got full of way to the front door (???) a knock and a brief exchange you asked me will i stay another year a blue and red rocket a great big farmhouse where we all can roam a beatific laugh, and then you sigh "you should do what you want" i remember the melody of the song but the words always escape my head stripped to the plot of a book i read i recall your face, but forget the feeling i lost everything of yours but a ring i have nothing to give back to you all i have is what i make all i have is a song that i can sing and you'll say that time tried to change you oh, but you maintain for me still waking up still coming home |
| Rilo Kiley – Room 8 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i always thought it was "lock the car, tremble and shake maybe the call was just a fake" because then she goes on to say: "but there she is spotted through rain" as if they like, didnt believe it. but then she does appear to be there. |
| Tilly and the Wall – Let It Rain Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i dont think that just because nick wrote it, the song has to do with homosexuality. nick also wrote 'forget the feeling,' but nobody is jumping on that song saying its about him being gay. but this song has to be one of my favorites. its so pretty. |
| The Unicorns – I Was Born (A Unicorn) (First Version) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this version is so much fun | |
| Kind of Like Spitting – Holding Patterns Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"When you called us three days later We all knew you were high We all knew you were tired But we thought you'd make it through the night" my favorite part of the song. |
| The Elected – The Bank and Trust Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i agree with juniorclemons completely. & i dont think any of the album really has to do with jenny except that one line. he might be talking about ex's, but im sure blake has had more girlfriends than just jenny. but ANYWAYS, i really love this song. and i think we should just appreciate it for what it is. as for rabbit fur coat... jenny really shouldn't have. her lyrics might not sound like teenage bs, but her songs sound like shit. |
| The Elected – Beautiful Rainbow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"well, I just couldn't get scared cause I'd have my rainbow" this song is so incredibly sweet. |
| Tilly and the Wall – Nights of the Living Dead Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i heard/read somewhere (some interview, but i cant remember where now) that the song was just about like, being a kid and feeling invincible and stuff like that. i guess they wrote the song after one of their friends died(?). | |
| The Good Life – Haunted Homecoming Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i'm not sure if these are completely correct, but this is what i have: well here I am, yeah, I'm back again in the town that I used to call my residence now it seems I dwell in a silver van you might have seen it once, yeah, it's parked out front but homecoming used to be a sweet affair I'd be swimming to the arms of a lover there, today there doesn't seem to be a niche for me, just a couch at todd's house, and jim, me, and the tv. the house is empty, the shadows are growing tall against the book shelves and the paintings as dusk begins to fall this city has abandoned me, it's forgotten who I am the landscape change its shape, the streets twist and bend until I've lost my direction I woke up late to the sound of drums so I headed downstairs to see what was going on. Roger was playing to a metronome, he said "it's just not right, man, it's got no soul." I told him what my sister said in chicago: "boy, you've made a choice you've got to uphold, i know it might sound unbearable, but when you chose to write, you chose to be alone." so the house is empty and thats how it has to be so I better not complain, I guess it's best for me, but the city keeps haunting me like the house on Lafayette it was built for world war vets we laughed and said "how appropriate." who do you think of when you think of the city? well, mostly, I think of you. you're the peants at their city you're the two way big at Louie's you're the Monday nights at Sullivan's you're the underground on Highland you're the dogtrap you're the devil you're the forty-niner's shuffleboard you're the big beard at the underwood you're the brothers you're the drug store well, I miss this city, I miss this city, ohh, I miss this city, I miss this city, (well, here I am, yeah, I'm back again) (in the town that I used to call my residence, now it seems I dwell in a silver van) I miss this city, (you might have seen it once, yeah it's parked out front, but homecoming used to be a sweet affair) I miss this city, (I'd be swimming to the arms of a lover there) I miss this city, (today there doesn't seem to be a niche for me) I miss this city, (just a couch at Todd's house, Jim, me, and the tv) |

| Tilly and the Wall – In Two Glasses of Wine Lyrics | 19 years ago |

i've never really associated conor with tilly at all. i mean, jamie & neely were in park ave with him, and they're on his label, but that's about all the connection i've made. & this song is on the tilly and the wall 7" along with two other songs. if anybody needs it still, im willing to send it. aim: planesdivingdown |

| The Good Life – Aftercrash Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i love the way he says "all the shards have made me hard" | |
| The Elected – It Was Love Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i totally agree with thisparapet. "and there's days when you just break the best thing you had and I still call it love" kind of sums it up. like 'it was the closest thing i've had to love and i'm glad it happened.' or at least, that's what i think. |
| Devendra Banhart – Quedate Luna Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i THINK this is it... I haven't drunk But i'll take a drink now And I know what I expect the most What makes me fall in love Three, Seven Ten You can't see me But perhaps If I say your name You'll know who it is I'm the dog at your feet That bites your ribs And the stars shine and the moon sits on its chair What are you drinking moon and why are you so yellow? Well, I'm tired and my daughters they call me old My hair is dry and my skin has no glow But the world is yours, but tonight you are mine So Stay, stay moon Stay, stay moon Stay, stay moon Stay, stay moon Look at god in the air, look at god in the sea I give you my life just to hear you sing Hear god in the wind, taste god in the honey God lives outside and inside also So Tell me, tell me moon Tell me, tell me moon Tell me, tell me moon Tell me, tell me moon Tell me, tell me moon Tell me, tell me moon Tell me, tell me moon Tell me, tell me moon I haven't drunk But i'll take a drink now And I know what I expect the most What makes me fall in love |
