im assuming this is just about someone who is usually very sure of themselves but has actually reached a point in his life when he's realized it was all a facade, even for himself. realization being the slow night, and crying signifying the end or break point in his 'big man' show. |

The programmed robots are buying and buying, Secluded freaks they are still trying trying. that is my favorite part. i think he's talking about capitalism and gentrification working hand in hand. i live in a neighborhood which is predominantly Polish, and we used to have all these polish delis lining the streets, and all the houses were family owned. and now these past couple of years we've had all these hipsters move in, condos be built, and even a starbucks to top it off. some of the original residents are still sticking it out, hopign teh neighborhood doesnt lose its ethnic charm, i think theyre the 'secluded freaks still trying trying'... |

i second it being the best christmas song ever. on the first listen I got that it was about enveloping the Christmas spirit but not having it be broken down to just material things, and that maybe Santa isn't the best symbol for the holiday since he's just about the presents... my favorite part.. I don't care about family and shopping malls Candy canes or the carolers decking the halls I don't care about what you say, Santa Claus You're a bad brother breaking into people's garage Jeez! |

i cant believe the band that wrote this song also wrote some of the others on this album. i love the lyrics of this one. the others are a little.. immature/non-sensical in my opinion. |
