Together Lyrics
You and me forever
We belong together
And we'll always endeavor
Throughout any type of weather
You want everything to be just like
The stories that you read but never write
You gotta learn to live and live and learn
You gotta learn to give and wait your turn
Or you'll get burned
You wrote our names down on the sidewalk
The rain came and washed 'em off
So we should write 'em again on wet cement
So maybe people a long time from now will know what we meant
You want every morning to be just like
The stories that you read but never write
You gotta learn to live and live and learn
You gotta learn to give and wait your turn
My only concern
I'm adding something new to the mixture
So there's a different hue to your picture
A different ending to this fairytale
When the sunset into which we sail
You want everything to be just like
The stories that you read but you can't write
You gotta learn to live and live and learn
You gotta learn to give and wait your turn
Or you'll get burned
We belong together
And we'll always endeavor
Throughout any type of weather
The stories that you read but never write
You gotta learn to live and live and learn
You gotta learn to give and wait your turn
Or you'll get burned
The rain came and washed 'em off
So we should write 'em again on wet cement
So maybe people a long time from now will know what we meant
The stories that you read but never write
You gotta learn to live and live and learn
You gotta learn to give and wait your turn
My only concern
So there's a different hue to your picture
A different ending to this fairytale
When the sunset into which we sail
The stories that you read but you can't write
You gotta learn to live and live and learn
You gotta learn to give and wait your turn
Or you'll get burned

I love this song... it's so beautiful, yet kind of sad. Maybe I'm wrong about the song (hopefully not! :D)... but.... I think that the person the singer is talking about wants the typical 'fairy tale' romance, but I think they're trying to rush things and get that sort of love right now, whereas things like that take time and you just have to go with the flow. The singer on the otherhand knows that you have to wait for something like that, and in the meantime, they're going to add a little bit of a twist to the romance (I'm adding something new to the mixture/So there's a different hue to your picture/A different ending to this fairytale/When the sunset into which we sail). I don't know... I just like this sort of idealistic sort of love with a dash of unconventional-ness added... maybe that's just me. Cheers :)
self-explanatory. the character that's speaking from a first-person standpoint is in-love with a girl who has obtained unrealistic expectations from the media's portrayl of modern romance ("the stories you read but never write"), he's gently urging her to let their relationship take its own course and to not be disapointed by its imperfection ("you've gotta learn to give and wait your turn"). he believes the relationship will last if the girl can learn to take it for what it is (the sidewalk chalk metaphor).
my new favorite love song.
I think Death Angel was right on.
The second chorus hits me everytime I hear it.
Check out their whole album, you will not be disappointed!
awww I love this! "You want everything to be just like The stories that you read but never write"
Along the same line as Steady as She Goes, the singer is suggesting that we don't live our lives in passivity. We should have affect and depth, and we should not accept that everything people tell us is real. I love the back-up vocals in this song.
i totally agree with HELICOPTERS
a mix of what helicopters and angel wrote, this song is tender
This is my favorite song right now....
it's just perfect
very self explanatory -at the end of the three versus that arent chorus versus, he says in three different ways, they will be together forever. the chorus is the only thing that says lets not push it. "learn to live, live and learn" , "learn to give and wait your turn" here he is saying take it step by step. In the end. I think he is saying, lets not be overly optimistic. If the become that way, they will lose the good thing they have. If they take it one step at a time, they will be together forever. If this isnt the case. the song blows my mind, it is saying a different thing every other verse. (take it step by step) (together forever)
Listen To The Complete Album A Few Times. It All Pieces In Magnificently.
