This revelation comes as a shock to me. While I find it hard to believe one would sing with such emotion about a city like that it the lyrics make perfect sense with it. Much more than with 2 lovers.
I guess I should thank you but I'm kinda disappointed about this. This was always a very special song to me because of its enigmatic darkness, the contours between love and hate, and now all the magic's gone. My gf also likes this song alot, I think I won't tell her this though, not to ruin it for her as well. |

While all Fiery Furnaces songs are baffling to some degree or another - this one is the best\worst!
Infact I get the feeling that they pieced together a few songs together that had absolutely no relation between one another, maybe for fun and maybe for sheer mischief.
I wonder where the hell is that Naracan dam... sounds like a typical Indian dam |

Love this one.
In my opinion like many other songs by Cocteau Twins the lyrics are just another form to emphasize the tone and mood of the song. With this one - it's one of the darkest cocteau twins songs I know. It's all about fear and panic. Even the title is alarming, although I have no idea what it means. |

Doesn't look like many wrote their comments on the Cocteau Twins' lyrics, maybe because their lyrics are too cryptic. Anyways, cryptic or not, after hearing (almost) all cocteau twins songs, I think this has to be the best one. It simply takes my breath every time (although the lyrics are completely and on purpose undecipherable) |

It's about the adventures and misfortunes at seaside they experienced as a result of losing the locket. I like how the song grows faster and then slower like waves in the ocean.
It uses many words from naval jargon. I wonder if it's based on some written naval adventure or something or if it's completely made up. |

I've actually been to Piazza Cavour, very nice piazza, not far from the Vatican :)
I'm completely baffled by this song. I think Mozzer just decorated this song with Italian icons meaningful to him that don't necessarily make sense. For example : Visconti is me. That makes no sense (Visconti being the one producing the album). |

I think this song is about a twisted love story. The love between those 2 is poisoned, for some reason (paranoia? envy?) . The poison is pouring into them, and eventually poisons their mind as well.
