my neighbor fed me some shit about dark rituals, i think that freemasonry might have quite a bit to do with it, jack white is a complete genius.
it's really strange because when i got the cd last year i was shoving myself through a year of algebra 1 two years too soon, and it just made me feel better, even if jack intended the song to be about mysticism it's from the point of view of someone who doesn't understand something. i consider jack very bright so it helped and made me feel like less of a moron.
now i love math... i don't know why... trig rocks!!! i was drooling over a disgustingly expensive graphing calculator today... |

what's with all the sex?! it's about a girlfriend who fools around and steals money, a boyfriend who's in love with her but is kind of wary of her, and an eye rolling onlooker who's frankly sick of being stuck with the two of them. yeah, there are sexual references, but all in all, it's just a stupid little ditty that everyone's reading way to far into. |

i have a thing about artificial medicine, coloring, flavoring etc. it bothers me so much, i eat organic food. this song is so wierd and it's mad genius. jack white is a mad genius. i love how he screams all the lyrics. it's a really blinding commentary on how in this day and age there is a pill for everything. bigger boobs? just turn on an infomercial. weight loss? it's called ephedra. hello-oh. *voice was dripping in sarcasm.* it's like he's making a joke on how when americans are in pain they'll (we'll?) do anything to make it go away, even take something that could possibly be poisonous. i love jack white. not only is he musically talented, but he's socially and intellectually brilliant. |

i think this song shows jack white in an amazing way. he's an old fashioned gentleman who really cares about his girlfriend. nobody really knows that much about him or meg, do they? they're really kind of hidden in shadow. and that's what i like! it's like the press hasn't completely abused them. i mean, no matter what you think jack's smoking, you can't deny that this song shows him not as a wierdo *coughgirlyouhavenofaithinmedicinecough* but as a lonely boy. a lot of his songs are written from a teenage point of view, like in the cold cold night. |

well, first of all, this song has so much meaning and memory attached to it. the first time i heard it was last year in october or november. the cd finished, but i was doing homework, so i didn't take note. and then i stopped dead. i heard notes that were so beautiful and amazing i thought there was an angel in the room singing. and the first thought that came to mind was "why the hell is this track hidden?" it's the best one on the cd and it's so emotional. in the following weeks, the boy i was in love with had a running joke that he was going to commit suicide. he never did, but everytime i heard this song, it reminded me of him and if i sang along with it, it felt like i was talking him out of it. to be honest, he was a stupid jock that got everything he wanted and eventually moved far away, giving me hell in the process. (we never went out.) but other things have happened to me when i was listening to the song and it's taken on an entirely new meaning now. the new meaning is a little raw, but that's what the song is. it's so raw. this, ladies and gentlemen, is the best of three doors down. |

the dream is a riddle. i have no idea what it means. i disagree with the interpretation of being sucked into the world, but that's only my view. i don't know if anyone has the creed album human clay, but in the insert, there's this creepy image of these little kind of evil looking children covered in dirt running in circles. this is what the song reminds me of... it's really dark and sinister and it's the coolest thing i've ever heard to open an album with. i really believe that it doesn't have an earthly, simple meaning at all. i'll work on it and repost. |

i don't know what the song is about. it means a lot to me as an individual and i think that's how it's meant to be taken. it's one of those songs that no matter who you are or where you are in life you listen to it and say, "that song is written for me." and on more than one occasion i have played it and just thought. it makes me feel like there is something more to life and to just breathe and wait it out. |

mmm... i'm thinking of getting the album godsmack, and i think that voodoo is about, not drugs, but a kind of intoxication, mainly some kind of bitch that he can't let go of. know that chick in the video, she's all fuzzy and kind of writhing? yeah, i think that the line about "candles raise my desire" is kind of like how candles traditionally are romantic and all that crap. and i totally think that the song is meant to be about black magic, from that movie or whatev, but to me it takes on a kind of obsession with a member of the opposite sex. unless he's gay, but i don't think he is. i don't know anything about godsmack except i love that song. whenever i see a sexy boy (i am female) i sort of feel like i'm the victim of voodoo. |

i like this song. it makes me feel better about the split with amy and shaun... i cried when i found out they broke up. hey, it ain't going under, but it's evanescence and it really displays amy's earth shattering voice. um... yeah, it's about substance abuse. or something like that. idk. i view it as someone letting go of a draining love. i can really relate to it in so many ways, it has a great feeling of being pissed off at the world and just screaming, "hell with you all! i'm not dealing with this shit." and about the singing lessons comment? amy had it in her all along, she just never released the power. this song is all bluesy and upbeat and fallen was darker and more acidic. you really can't belt out dark music, you just have to sort of have to have a really torn sound. this was just determined. i pledge my allegiance to evanescence, no matter what they do. but i am a little pissed that they're on i tunes now and they have all this publicity going on with the press and mtv. putting amy, the girl i practically worship, next to pissy hurlton (paris hilton) is a major insult. oh, well. maybe those pop star fans will grow brains and realize that metal (even happy metal) is life. |
