Lots of problems with the lyrics, but besides the corrections already made... "Hallelujah" is "I'm not letting go", and the line goes "Wanting you here still means I'm almost doing without." That is my absolute favorite line, and it really shows his struggle for acceptance and his attempt to move on. And it's not " fall too beneath you," it's "want to be near you." And God is NOT all he's found. "Gone" is all he's found. this song is so amazingly beautiful, and it perfectly captures the struggle that is faced after something beautiful comes to an end. |

Everytime the strings come in, it makes me cry. I can relate to this song 110%. "silent fortress built to last" this has always stood out for me. The need to be so strong about everything, and keep it all hush-hush so that no one knows about it. Absolutely gorgeous. The lyrics, the music, the raw emotion behind it. This song saved my life. This song helped me through so, so much. I have moved on, and I am stronger now. For me, it's more of a two bad experiences, thing. A dark past, that he thought would be cured by a relationship, which also turned sour. But there are some people that you just have to forgive. And it feels so good just letting go. Not letting the experiences of the past control your life anymore. This song and Two Beds and a Coffee Machine have pretty much literally saved my life. |

Going with what christina said.. This song has always applied to me in a way that someone loved me so much, and was unable to let go, thought I was the perfect person, perfect for them, etc. It's a horrible, horrible situation to be in, and this song just captures those feelings perfectly. "do yourself a favor, save yourself. don't pick me; find someone else." Amazing songwriting as always. |
