I would fathom that Inis Mona is a place. It could be a woman, but I just get the feeling it's a place. I just wish that we could have some sort of point of reference so we could know exactly what and where Inis Mona is. Google isn't much help. Great song, though. |

I just watched 2001: A Space Odyssey... let's leave my opinion of the film out of this.
At any rate, the ending of that movie reminded m a lot of this song. *spoilers* The end of the movie seemed to refer to a universal power, an energy that has the power to do amazing things. The character at the end of this movie is put on his deathbed by this power, and then he becomes what many fans of the film have referred to as a "star child." This, coupled especially with the lines "Millions shapes and colors are storming inside your mind/Creating information/Forming universes without walls" seems to describe the latter portion of the movie and the power of this force well. Honestly, who know what the hell that movie's really about, but it definitely seems to be about life, death, and creation, like this song. |

I could almost take this song literally to describe a relationship I had with this girl. The only part that I can perfectly use to describe it is, "And when he left us he said, "It's not so bad."" But even then, maybe that's the one part that might be a metaphor in our relationship?
Anyway, the person this song is referring to seems to be a very selfish person, who lost all her friends because, even though they tried to care for her, she wouldn't care enough for them to keep them.
And then the narrator of the song just really really at one point wanted to help, but the girl eventually just hurt him so much that he couldn't do it anymore. Then when she's in pain and reaching out for her last closest friend, he tells her, "You'll never hurt enough." Part of the problem is that in getting so close to try help her, no one can understand how much she hurt him, "No one will ever see these cuts/call this bluff."
And the main point of this song is that the narrator wants to show Marigold what's it's like to be on the receiving end of it all, to cause her the pain that she's caused others, but in the end that can't completely happen just because of how Marigold is.
My interpretation anyway. |

Eh, I kind of disagree actually.
This guy fell in love with this girl, she made him happy, and then the girl just goes off once some other guy, so the singer tells the girl he's going to tell her how much he loves her, but he knows that that's going to change crap, as she's just going to go after another guy, hence, "...and watch you walk away." He knows not even explaining to her his love will make her stay. |

Great song. Love the subtle sitar work. I noticed in The Missing McCloud Boys that snow was mentioned a bit, and once again it's mentioned. I wonder if it's going to be a running theme on the album? |

I know ~exactly~ what you mean, Pac. It's overwhelming and utterly beautiful. You can just sit back and listen to the beat, or you can put more effort into it and follow the words, but either way you get a rush of emotion. |
