| and touchdown, if you rape children, i'll be there and im not gonna wait til you kill yourself. hah. | |
| Marilyn Manson – A Place In The Dirt Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
woopty doo, then go listen to backsweat boys. though im not the greatest manson fan, and i dont know much about his stuff, i do know that he is one of the most intelligent people you can find nowadays in that flood of shit called 'media'. what you might mean is that for some strange reason he seems to deliberately avoid being seen that way... but that doesnt mean he's just mindlessly parading around. that is just the surface. now some ideas about the song... so you guys are saying its about JFK, and that kinda triggered a line of thoughts in me, which could just as well be a bunch of nonsense, but i just thought i'd share it with you. the "windshield in my heart" is america (US). he is the president, leader of the nation who has to consider the interests of his country above all else, sometimes sacrificing the good of a few individuals, and even his own needs as a person (like working with his health problems and all), so we (viewing himself as one of 'us' now), the "bugs" get smeared on the windshield. "stop the meat from thinking before I swallow all of it" - to dull the people and make them blind to the shit that's really going on, so that america ('I' now refers to him as the leader again) can 'swallow' the world. the "put me in the motorcade" part is pretty obvious. then "angels with needles poked through our eyes" - the guy who shot him could be seen as an angel of death, and since he says angels, the others may be who hired the assassin guy, or just simply the angels of death, malice, the anger and destructive instinct of man. the needle would be the bullet (snipers use longish, needle-like bullets), or metaphorical needles of the wishes for his death, kinda like needles in an imaginary voodoo doll. and since its "our eyes", the whole thing affected the people too, "let the ugly light of the world in" into his skull, and the sad truth into the people's minds, making them see ("we were no longer blind") that even the most powerful man on earth is merely human and can be killed, and also that even he (now symbolizing the nation) is not almighty and protected from everything (he is not god). the "ugly head"... if you've ever seen a guy's head blown apart by a sniper rifle, you know it's not a pretty sight. the "Mary-whore"... his wife..? since he was kinda lookin like god, that could refer to the first lady "at the bed" - beside his body in the car, at his grave, whatever. "perfect death in the sun and in the dirt" - he was on the top of the world ("in the sun") but as a mere human he ended up "in the dirt". "they've casted the shadow" - you're next. LoL. well, something like that. i guess its about the US again. atreiu. i dont know shit about the whole thing, but i could come up with this ^. i think the guy could tell you more about his messages and stories. and garbage is an awesome band, by the way. well... im not american, not a christian, i dont know much about politics and JFK, or about manson himself for that matter. so as i said this might be a load of crap, but i thought it was interesting. i had fun anyway. :) |

| Seether – Plastic Man Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| rephrase? huh? why the hell hell would he sing that? of course its reFRAIN, dammit. beside the fact that 'rephrase' would be completely fuckin senseless, you can even hear clearly that he says REFRAIN. its a song, man. he's a musician. duh. | |

| Radiohead – Creep Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
wow, bob. great interpretation, and i know what you mean. (isn't it damn annoying to hear that from everyone?) anyway... i got this from followmearound.com: "What arguably took 'Creep' into an unforeseen dimension were the moments when Jonny Greenwood made that alarming crunching guitar noise. Tellingly, it was an utter accident. "That's the sound of Jonny trying to fuck the song up," laughs Ed O'Brien. "He really didn't like it the first time we played it, so he tried spoiling it. And it made the song." wow, huh? i LOVE that crunching part, and it does make the song. incredible that it was an accident, it fits so perfectly in the 'creep' concept. the guy feels he is a creep in a perfect world, and while he talks about the girl the song is all mellow and calm, and when he starts singing "i'm a creep" - CRUNCH, CRUNCH...lol..describing the distorted image of a creep, dirty and lowly, reaching out for the perfect, angelic girl with his dirty hands...and she's disgusted and scared, "she's running out the door..." awesome song. |

| X Japan – Orgasm Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
it is quite amusing how you all rise up against that sucker's 2 line comment in whole essays about morality and tolerance and what not, telling *him* to get a life, while he will most likely never even come back to this site to read your witty remarks... but yeah, you guys are right, i'm on your side. (even though none of you will ever read this.) |

| Blink-182 – Adam's Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
blink rocks but if you dont like them, that doesnt mean they suck. stop being damn 5 year olds already. and yea, this song is clearly about suicide. if you think its not, if a simple thing like understanding what you hear is too difficult for you, then go listen to some techno cr@p without all those confusing words. it is the story of the kid who killed himself, but not only that. one time when the blink guys were on tour, one of them (since im not a blink freak i cant remember which one) was depressed and fed up with the whole parade and wanted to go home. well...so i've heard. and i think it kinda clicks with the lyrics ("The tour was over, We'd survived...") and it makes sense, in a way... they might have thought it would be a good idea to bring those 2 things together in a song, that would be a sort of anthem about depression and all that bad stuff - the result: Adam's song, one of the most depressing songs ever. you might find the depressed on tour idea stupid though... i don't know. but you can always make up your own interpretation, that's why music and art in general is such a great thing. (well...your own interpretation as long as you don't see rainbows and cute lil bunnies hopping around on a flowery meadow in a song that is about suicide and depression.) i also agree with Isabelle, but i think "the cord was never plugged in" line could hold some deeper, metaphorical meaning about his life..? maybe. but maybe not. oh well. |
