garagenrocker, the 'v's' as we tend to refer to it is the same as the victory/peace sign but instead of having your palm facing outwards it is facing you. so yeah the peace thing but reversed. i strongly doubt "shadow men" refers to asian people, largely due to the bands stance on racial profiling or whatever. but anyway im english and thats a term ive never come upon. i can only presume it means generally dodgy dealers/gangsters. |

i believe its about someone suffering with anorexia. though the binge/purge cycle he talks about is more common in bulimics. still, its a great song. shows some real talent with lyric writing too; 'my problems hide in numbers that leave when i gag and heave' being a good example. love it. |

are you on pills? yes the prodigy are immense and the drum loops some of the sickest ive ever heard. however, jew have clearly covered the song in an attempt to interpret it in a different way and if it sounds as good as this theyre perfectly free in my opinion to try and bring new meaning to other artists' material. and my sundown is my personal favourite off what i consider their weakest album. i like their more poignant songs but to be fair its all pretty good. |

probably the best song from 'futures'. i wonder why they chose to leave it off the album... and in response to sin-é: i agree with that. jim has implied in several interviews that he is a big reader. quite a few of their songs contain refernces to various literature or have been clearly inspired by it. |

this was such a shock when i got the album. about as far away from their early stuff as you can possibly get but still managing to sound iFR! through and through. i dont know how they do it. as for the meaning of the song, i used to think i nailed it and it was just a bit of a philosophical one about life and moving on, especially with the "before you've even seen it the old horizon's gone" line. but looking at the lyrics again they dont seem very general at all and are clearly focused on something else. i dunno... |
