| The Feeling – Miss You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
For me, this fits perfectly with Blue Piccadilly, and I love the fact that they merged the two songs into one track on the album. Blue Piccadilly is about a relationship that is coming to an end - the first verses indicate that perhaps they were in it for the wrong reasons, and later in the song comes the line 'Ain't it a shame there's another' - possibly another reason for the break up. Perhaps I'm using a little poetic licence here, but I feel that he is saying that there is already a distance between them; illustrated in the line 'twelve stops and home'. It is unclear whether 'home' refers to the home that they share, or a new home that he has had to make for himself. ....then at the end of the song, there is a period of silence, the sound of footsteps returning, and then this song. I think that this song is about confusion. Whilst Blue Piccadilly indicated that they may not have been compatible, by the time he wrote this song, he seems to have changed his mind; 'Everyone knows it Can you deny it I was the only one for you Everyone knows it Cause we couldn't hide it' Now he is saying that it was obvious to everyone that they were supposed to be together. I think that the line, 'I wonder who you've seen and I hope that hes just a friend' refers to the 'another' mentioned in Blue Piccadilly. As well as confusion about why the relationship had to end, and who the other person is, I think this song is about pain and regret 'My love was stronger than you think Much stronger now I've had a drink' One of those memories that is so painful that you automatically stop yourself from going back over it in your head, so that you only really think about in when you've been drinking and have let down your guard. Perhaps this song is the equivalent of that 'drunken phone call' so many of us have made...?! I could be totally wrong.... but I'd LIKE to think that's what it means. =) |

'I wanna die with you Wendy on the streets tonight In an everlasting kiss' That is a beautiful idea. A kiss that surpasses even death. |

| Travis – More Than Us Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I THINK it could be about when a relationship has gone on for so long that you can't really remember why you got together. I think it's about the confusion of how you feel and where the relationship is headed. "And everybody calls it love But I'm not really sure if this is love At all Not anymore" I think it's about a relationship that's lasted so long that the initial passion is gone, and he's asking what's left. Does love always have to be passionate, driven? Or when the passion and excitement has gone, can love remain? .....but thats just a guess! |

| I want this song to be played at my funeral... | |
| Del Amitri – Always The Last To Know Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I like the fact that, at least in this song, the thing he's most worried about is being 'the last to know'. That he's concerned about whether she's 'happy now', or whether 'he's cruel'. I think it takes a really special person to be able to feel that way after a relationship - to show they care (rather than acting like they never cared), but also to not smother the other person with their feelings. To have genuine concern that isn't about them trying to make the relationship work again. But like Fein Mess said, the fact that he cheated kinda ruins it... =( |

| Paolo Nutini – New Shoes Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Yeah....the meaning is pretty clear....if it really is about new shoes. I'm not convinced though! I think theres more to it than that. 'take me wandering through these streets where bright lights and angels meet stone to stone they take me on i'm walkin til the break of dawn' |

| Paolo Nutini – Last Request Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I read an interview with him where he explained that this song is about one of his ex girlfriends; they could both see that the relationship was 'going nowhere', so they decided to break up - but he asked if they could have sex one last time. Imo it's kinda weird to want to have sex with someone if you no longer love them, and can see that the relationship is over... But it's an amazing song! I love it! =) |

| Whitney Houston – I Will Always Love You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I love this song, it has so much emotion packed into it, but it's not really a song you can play to a boyfriend/girlfriend. Its about divide - 2 people going their separate ways. They love each other, but are no longer going to be together. I've been in a situation like that. I moved to a different country, and had to leave my boyfriend behind, not knowing whether we'd ever see each other again. It sucks balls having to do that... We did see each other again about 3 years later, and we are still friends. =) But yeah, what I'm saying is, thats quite a rare situation to be in. This song is in The Bodyguard, which is a great film! |

| Sandi Thom – What If I'm Right? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I love this song. I can definitely relate to it! I'm the kind of person who can meet a guy for the first time, and then over the next few days I'll plan the rest of our future together - I'll imagine our wedding, plan out our house and careers, I'll even imagine what our children will look like! To me, thats what this song is about. |

| Jack Johnson – Holes To Heaven Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song was written about India, and it means a lot to me because I lived there for 3 years (although I'm British). This song is SO true. The bulls run wild all over the place, there are always children playing cricket - normally in ragged clothes and no shoes. Bribing officials is so true as well!!! Its a very corrupt country... I can't put it into words, but it's amazing how he can describe India so aptly. I think the 'holes to heaven' bit might also be about how for the children (and Indian people in general) who are living in poverty, the start are like holes to heaven for them - an escape from the shanty towns they live in...?! |

| Avril Lavigne – I Always Get What I Want Lyrics | 19 years ago |

This song is fun, but people who aren't Avril fans hear it and just think she is self centered and immature.... and she wrote the song to show that she's NOT self centered and immature. ...that kinda back fired! lol |
