has to find it among all the rest of the lost and found. He also started the song with the beat of a train moving and the piano was the first notes he thought of to play over it though it's total opposite the song. |

I watched an interview with Mika about this song and he said it's literally about a woman who loses her heart on the London underground rail system. He said they have a lost and found bucket for everything - a couple full of dentures even - so the woman |

| Green Day – American Eulogy: A. Mass Hysteria/B. Modern World Lyrics
| 15 years ago
|
The beginning "I don't wanna live in the modern world"s are both Billie Joe and Mike, then Mike starts at "I'm the class of '13..." through "...into the underground." They both sing the "I don't wanna live in the modern world" stuff again. Billie Joe sings "I am a nation..." through "...fuckin' lies" alone, and Mike takes over again with "Well I want to take a ride to the great divide" to "I don't give a shit about the modern age." It's both Billie Joe and Mike singing "I don't wanna live in the modern world" at the end, and BJ doing the "mass hysteria..." stuff.
Mike sings with a deeper voice than Billie Joe does when he sings solo (the harmonies are higher in pitch), and he also sings with an overbite, so his s's sound very slightly like "sh."
Tre doesn't sing on this album at all. He has a distinctive voice -- he sings the hidden track on "Dookie" ("All By Myself"), part 4 of "Homecoming" ("Rock n Roll Girlfriend") on "American Idiot," and "Dominated Love Slave" from "Kerplunk!" |

Oh, I dunno, I just hear an "y" sound at the end of that line. I'm not sure what he actually says, but that's how I hear it. Maybe at his concert I'll be able to tell for sure hah |

I didn't read all of the comments obviously, so I apologize if what I say is repeated.
Without having referenced Wikipedia (I saw that comment), I had always thought the line "So I tried a little Freddie/I've gone identity mad" had to do with Queen's "I'm Going Slightly Mad." The video for it shows none of the band members looking as they do -- Freddie just looks like a madman and makes the rest of them go mad -- Brian looks like a penguin, John is a joker, and I assume Roger is in the gorilla costume. It also goes with the song because he's changing personality. Along with the arm gesture Mika always does, the noise he makes after saying Freddie's name is something Freddie Mercury would do. Mika doesn't have as great of a vocal range as Freddie did, probably because he doesn't sing as low-pitched as Freddie did, but he is still an excellent vocalist and pianist (also like Freddie :P ). He has said he likes being compared to Freddie as would anyone, I think. |

It sounds to me like "There's a one foot boy in every story sittin' on my shoulder" instead of eleven stone. |

Hi, newsflash: Pre-American Idiot, they didn't wear makeup. Pre-American Idiot, very few songs had meaning that scratched the surface. The song's about kinky sex, bondage, S&M, whatever you want to call it, THE END. |

That...definitely isn't JC rapping the part about being played and having it made and whatever. That'd be Chris.
And the last part that Justin speaks is him saying "Eh, I'm broke." |

Okay, well, it means nothing to me 'cause frankly, I don't understand a word Snuff says, and I'm bad enough at reading into lyrics.
However! I do love the band, in all actuality, to death, especially Radikal9K. He and I are like *crosses fingers* haha ^-^
RIP Ahri Hann, though ... |

| Eighteen Visions – Victim Lyrics

I don't know if anyone's really noticed it, but Eighteen Visions has changed on every record thus far, both lyrically and instrumentally.
Just take a listen to "Lifeless," and progress through the years ("No Time for Love," "Until the Ink Runs Out," "Vanity," "Obsession," "Eighteen Visions" ...). Nothing is the same as it ever was so I really don't think complaining that "this isn't Eighteen Visions" really says much of anything. |
