I think it's interesting that this song comes on the album right after Slide Away. Maybe it's like they were young and foolish and in love, but then they got married, had some kids, and they realize that things can't always be perfect. It sounds like he still really loves her, but he's seeing that she's not a perfect angel. But that's life, and he knows he'll come back to her eventually, sooner or later. Anyone else agree? By the way, classy song. |

THIS SONG ROCKS! Seriously, this is one of my favorite Oasis songs, along with Hello, Don't Look Back in Anger, She's Electric, Champagne Supernova, Stand By Me; I Hope, I Think, I Know; Don't Go Away, Live Forever, Slide Away, Acquiesce... They just have so many great songs that it's hard to choose just one, isn't it? I have no idea what this song means. But all I know is that it rocks! It seems maybe like it's about being an outcast and getting pushed around, and feeling repressed by the upper class and those in power. Hence, not being able to breathe. I don't know. |

Oh, this is such a gorgeous song. I have no idea what it means though... The part about her being a good girl is interesting, especially when he switches from saying "And I never told you that" to "And he never told you that." I think that maybe that means she was in a relationship where the guy was verbally abusive or something, and he's trying to reassure her that she's ok. And maybe rain isn't all that bad. I like the rain... But I'm still not entirely sure what this song is about... |

I LOVE THIS SONG!! As for meaning, I think that it's about a girl and the way he feels when he's near her. She kind of takes him away from the madness, and makes him numb to the world around him. Other people don't understand, which is why they think he needs to be rescued. And maybe they forced him to leave her for some reason, which is why he wants her to say she'll miss him. The line about this being his last song makes me think of a dance, and maybe it refers to the last song he'll be able to dance with her to. I don't know. This is a great song precisely because the lyrics are so vague and open to interpretation. And the line, "I'm feeling like I might need to be near you" is sheer beauty. |

I love this song! To me, it's pretty obvious that it's talking about virginity and doing something you regret. He wasn't listening to the warnings people gave him, and so now he's left to reel in the slack and deal with the consequences. He's trying to let other people know that they can do what they want, but he's going to be true to what he believes in now, and not make the same mistakes again. I don't know, this song just makes me feel good. I'm not sure exactly why. And Teddy Geiger isn't gay. You don't know what the heck you're talking about. P.S.: It's "the moments that fall flat", not "the moments that will pass." Just FYI. |

This song is such a pretty story. Here's how I see it... He's in love with a girl who might be a little bit of a social outcast, or maybe she's been treated badly and ignored. He's trying to tell her that he sees what's on the inside, and that's what makes her beautiful. "You're the only one I ever believed in." She just needs to let love in and let him be there for her. This is such a classy song. I don't think it's really a breakup song though. I think it goes a little more like this: This guy's in love with this girl. I think that's pretty obvious and self explanatory. But he sometimes wishes he didn't know her, because she causes him so much grief and anxiety. "I wish you were a stranger, I could disengage." It sounds like he was close to her at some time, but they started to grow apart. "And suddenly I've become a part of your past. I'm becoming the part that don't last. I'm losing you and it's effortless." Everything that's going on in his life with her is overwhelming, hence the line "Everyone knows I'm in over my head." I can definitely relate. This song is in constant rotation on my iPod, just because it could be the commentary to my life. Especially the line about how effortless it is to lose someone. Spot on. |

This song probably IS about drugs, given who's writing it, but I prefer to make it into a song about love. To me, it's about a guy falling in love with a girl, who he's probably known and been friends with for a long time. "There we were, now here we are." He feels things for her that he doesn't understand. "All this confusion, nothing's the same to me." And he isn't sure what to do with those feelings or how to explain them. "I can't tell you the way I feel, because the way I feel is oh so new to me." I don't know, no one else probably sees it, but it makes perfect sense to me. I actually like to interpret it this way because then it relates better to my own life. At any rate, it's an awesome song. |

I LOVE this song. It just means so much to me. Here's my take on it. The song's about someone, most likely a woman, who's pushing herself so hard, when she doesn't really need to. She's incapable of slowing down. Vienna represents a haven from the world, which she desperately needs but can't find. The singer is trying to tell her that it's ok; she can take some time out and not miss much of anything. My favorite line: Dream on, but don't imagine they'll all come true. That just sums it up right there. You can make all these plans, but you have to realize that things never turn out quite like you want them to. |

Then the chorus:These could be the best days of our lives, but I don't think we'd be living very wise. That's just saying that we could spend all our time doing nothing, and that could be the highlight of our lives. But we're meant to be doing so much more and getting so much more out of life than that. Think about it...it makes sense on a certain level. | God, this song is amazing. Liam's voice is just so full of passion and longing. You can just feel it. As to the meaning...I think it's pretty obvious, isn't it? This song is all about being in love with a girl, and wanting to be with her so badly. But she's pushing him away, and he can't deal with that. He just wants her to know that he loves her and wants to be with her forever. At least that what it means to me...I absolutely love it. The guitar solo is incredible. | |
