Im studying Cat on a Hot Tin Roof from 50's Southern America, and found it interesting that the gay but wont admit it character of Brick sings 'I'm tired and i wanna go to bed' during the play, especially as he is in a situation where he is at odds with life, although not enccessarily suicidal |

I lyk the suicide interpretation... The devil and deep blue sea to hide - about how shes planning on commiting suicde... love enters and leaves through your eyes - when life leaves and they go dead - and he sees her afterwards looking as she is |

About that layered music... How much more melodic and lighter is the original album version to that you hear from downlaods or off hatful of hollow? It is a lot lot better, much mroe complex and you can get to grips with it more. |

This song's just so clever. Even some of the smaller lines are outstanding in themselves, not just the plagerism theme. 'and we gravely read the stones' - just a fantastic play on words that stands out and always makes me smile |

the songs wrote about the people in Morrissey's life, he didnt like, but had to spend time with, his work colleagues and bosses etc... he says so in this interview about 8.25 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RM0KNPnT3JU |

I agree with all those who say its sarcasm... there could be ltos of deeper menaings, but the one Morrissey wnats people to see is the sarcastic one; he put her in the coma and hes tekking the mick outta the doctors/family etc by feighning concern - its the most fun interpetation. And it really gets peoples backs up who hate the Smiths and use this as an example of being morbid :P |

'There is a better world, Well there must be' as Mr Soul sed gives the impression that hes looking forward to the lfie after death cos its so crap now... but the line, well there must be, especially way tis sang, hints that hes not so sure, but hey, lifes crap, and it might be better - but no1 who ever commits suicide is ever sure its the right option, no1 can be totally certain there is a life after death |

| The Smiths – Money Changes Everything Lyrics

wehey, first comment... actaully a dissapointment form the smiths... an instumental song obviously lacks lyrics, and to make up for it, it should be twice as catchy; lyk Oscilliate Willdly... Money Chnages Everything isn't half as catchy, and its a rather dead gap in 'The World Won't Listen' album |

Is it just me, or are his vocals and the music more 'together' in this song than most other, chorus is foot tapping for a change, and its so much more catchier than any of their other songs when it comes to ' earned it yet soooonnnnnn' |

lyrically, its what u would expect from the morrissey, just simpler... and forgive me if i'm wrong, but this is a cover of a female artists 60's song.... Morrissey's idols were women like Sandy Shaw etc... most bands have an album, of which u lyk to listen to about half the songs.... to see people calling this song shit just because it isn't smith lyk is pathetic,
besides, s'not to bad a song anyway; rounds off 'the world won't listen' rather nicely and with a lovely ironic twist to the whole album |

I agree with fivergirl; this song is probably about a relationship - but where he really isn't in one as such, he lvoes someone, and she doesnt reutrn the feelign as much, and everything he sows and all his attempts to lvoe her are not getting him anywhere, but he can't let go of the love he feels for her, so in turn his world is falling apart; and he doesnt wants to be free from the lonliness and dispair it is bringing upon him, but he still cnat pull away |

i cant believe no one has commented on this! such gd song, although the last thing i would wnat to do is analyse it, to me it appears an obscure outllok on his life, yet that only scrtachign the surface, this is rather a complicated song if u cba wid looking at it properly... and idea what the golden arms about? |
