| Casey Dienel – The La La Song Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
"It's clementine season, my peach, my little. You are gone, but now I like all my parts. It's funny how when we're whole, we feel hollow It's funny, I like me best with a broken heart." how absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking is that? quite literally, i think the song is about accepting sadness as just an honest and pure and human of an emotion as any other. It thaws, it ebbs, it goes away and comes back, like the seasons, like rotting fruit. |

| Tom Waits – Green Grass Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| tom waits has the best music to smoke to. almost hard to listen to. wonderful. | |
| Sufjan Stevens – The Star Spangled Banner Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this is haunting. it's so beautiful. | |
| The Elected – Would You Come With Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| beautiful tune. it's really simple but the effect is amazing. | |
| Page France – Air Pollution Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| earth day anthem? this is a pretty song any day. not quite sure what this song means other than the obvious 'earth' tones. Maybe a relationship going bad, but the narrator refuses to break up and rather share whatever they have left nomatter how bad(pollution) it is for both of them. far stretch? | |
| Say Hi – Dimensions and Verticals Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
fucking crazy much? i'd hate to say it, but these lyrics kill. honestly, "If I got erased would you even still love me? Or would you just draw yourself another he?" perfect lyrics. when i heard this song, i immediately knew that if i were to write a movie, this sound would be in its soundtrack. |

| Belle & Sebastian – Fox in the Snow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"When your legs are black and blue It's time to take a break When your legs are black and blue It's time to take a holiday" My favourite off If You're Feeling Sinister. I think this song is about watching someone you love self destruct. There's so much love for the characters, but the characters themselves are deliberately doing things to hurt themselves. This hardly applies literally; just how i feel. lol |

| Feist – Mushaboom Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| postal service remix anyone? | |
| Suburban Kids with Biblical Names – Funeral Face Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| best names. "So cut that crap, stop that shit don't be dumb I will love you forever. I'm the stalker, the funeral face that will follow you ever and ever you go. I'm the one that you want and you want me now." Self assured much? I love it. | |
| Oh No! Oh My! – I Have No Sister Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| handclaps electronica tambourines? and he even pronouces "route" right. clever. | |
| Bright Eyes – We Are Nowhere and It's Now Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Regarding mayonesiac and what he/she said about Poison Oak, i just want to clarify that the song isn't about a girl leaving someone. It's about Conor's or his cousin's(never really clarified) brother leaving. To me, the yellow bird symbolizes hope and luck and generally positive things that Conor himself wants to have but really doesn't. Since the two songs involve different characters, i find it hard to believe the "yellow bird" represents a single being. Conor's known to involve multimeanings with everything he sings about anyway. | |
| Babyshambles – Merry Go Round Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this song actually gets better after the fairly repetative merry go round (bridge?). the title is beautiful, and Pete falling down at the end is too humble. There's just so much potential in Pete, and this song is another one of those almost-songs, with almost-lyrics, and almost-luscious melodies. it really does well near the 3:30 ish part if you can stand it till then. | |
| Maria Mena – Sorry Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
this song does wonderful things to her voice. or maybe it's the other way around. the lyrics are beautiful. who doesn't feel anything when she sings "He grabs my wrist As my fingers turn into angry fists And I whisper 'Why can't you love me, I'll change for you I'll play the part.'"? |
|
| Maria Mena – Your Glasses Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| she has a brilliant voice. i actually perfer her voice to Alanis Morisette, or Liz Phair which has much much more press than her. | |
| Sufjan Stevens – For the Widows in Paradise, for the Fatherless in Ypsilanti Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this is a nice song. and i like sufjan. but did anyone notice how it changed from "I'll do anything for you" to "I did everything for you"? I agree on the Christian undertones, but i see this as a sort of upset "i died for you, and you still don't believe me, you stupid fools." sort of thing. sure i'm a non christian so ofcourse my views are biased, but i'd like to hear what others think. | |
