I just heard this song thanks to a suggestion from Itunes. But I love it. I've been in this type of situation. I think he is basically talking to her throughout the song and apologizing in the first verse about what happened in their relationship, or maybe they are talking and he is apologizing for bring up the past again. The rest of the song just sounds like he is sick of pretending he is fine and completely done with her, as he says he wants to tell her that he's fine without her, but he doesn't want to lie to her anymore. I think this song really boils down to just that knowledge that both of you are with other people, but wondering if it's cause you feel what you should do. Yet you can't just forget them completely, as he says " Between you and I, I still keep your pictures underneath my bed Where she gives herself to me. Where I give myself to you." it's almost as if he's saying this girl is giving her everything to him, but he still can't give himself to her because he is still attached to his ex. I know the feeling all to well, you want to move on, but you just kind of know that person will always have a piece of your heart, despite how much you don't want to admit it and how much you really do want to just let go completely. |

To me this song seems like it is about just leading someone on. And that she basically wises up to what he is doing. The lines "Sit back and tell me why I'm so prone to this Do you think I'm fond of getting you And letting you down? And I'll get mine soon" It seems like he is just so used to getting her and letting her down, and it isn't because he likes it but more so he knows he can, and when you know you have that power over someone, it makes it way easier. But then he has the ultimate realization that she will one day catch on to his crap, and he'll lose her and that is where the I'll get mine soon comes in. Also the eyes open wide makes it seem like when she decides to leave him it will be cause she won't be closing her eyes to the truth anymore. It's a good song. |

I think this song is about a relationship. To go further in depth, I believe that these two were together for a long time, and they loved each other, then maybe a bit of her identity became being with this person, and she decided that she just wasn't feeling it as much as she used to. She loves this person, but for reasons beyond her control, she realizes she can't be with him anymore, and she has to find what else is out there. Reminds me of my ex. I just couldn't shake this feeling that I love this person, but for some reason things just didn't feel right anymore. |

I love this song. I first heard it when my first love broke up with me. And to this day it still makes me think of her and that period in my life. To me, this song is about a break up, no doubt. But I think it's the feelings that you go through right after a break up. He starts the song by saying she is really gone, and it's almost like disbelief. Then we all know the feeling when you find a shirt or something of theirs around your house and it's a reminder of them and you just feel even more broken. I think he was hurt, and he missed her but she broke up with him and he knew that is how it had to be. It is like he lost that safety net of her, when you're so used to running to someone for help, and all of a sudden you can't even talk to them it is the hardest feeling in the world. He is just trying to keep his head up because he knows it ended bu knows he can't let it ruin him. Then i think the second verse is him adjusting to being single and how you basically start a whole new life when you break up with a really serious lover. I love the line "no we can't just be friends" mainly because that is what my ex wanted to do. And when you love someone that much, being the love of their life to their friend is just impossible. And the "keep the slowly fading memories, i'm keeping these memories.." That part hits me too. my fav part all time though, "for every tear a lesson learned, every good time golden, but now it's time to let you go, and i will not be broken." He cherished her and he loved her and that won't stop, and he is kind of asking her to remember him like he does her. This song still gets me. I love it. |

It's totally about having that one person in your head who you think is your ideal partner then you meet someone completely different then you thought you were going to end up with. This reminds me of my first gf, especially the "i like blue eyes, hers are green" and "so it took me by complete surprise when my heart got lost in those deep green eyes" it maks me think back to that moment when my dream girl wasn't what i fell in love with but this girl was so much more to me. | |

Now you're with someone new and you like them but you can't completely let go of what you had witht hat other person because what you felt for them was so strong. But your asking this new person to give it time because you know you can love them you just cna't let og of the past quite yet. I dont think ti's about excuses. But I honestly liked the person who said it was about him thinking that she might not be being faithful to him, so he is wondering why he is being to her. I was in a long distance relationship and those things run through your mind constantly. Plus distance really screws with you, you don't see each other all the time so you fight, and things are pretty hard, and it's hard to be faithful because that person isn't there and you get jealous and start wondering maybe they are doing the same thing. that is what i did, i thoguht for sure they were cheating on me, so i did, in reality i'm not sure if they ever did, but it does happen. See I think this song has to do with a long distance relationship. I think I feel this way because I remember that feeling. I was in a long distance relationship and i remember the last plane ride i took, and i recall looking out the window and seeing the city thye lived in and that feeling of wanting to be there but knowing it's not your home. I think when he says that 24 hours under your touch, it is that he is lucky that he got that becuse they live so far apart, and i relate tot he part aobut not being able to wait to land to call and talk becuase you miss each other so much. So to me this song is basically aobut him leavin ghis gf because he had to go home or on tour and it's just all his feelings as he is leaving her, and how he doesn't want the plane to go down because he wants to see her again. It sounds like it could be his thoughts from take off ot landing. |

I think this song is about a first love. Or maybe someone who changed your whole outlook on relationships, but in a good way. This girl taught him so much, and he really loved her, but she left, or they broke up because he felt they had to. He talks about how most of their relationship was based on lies, but still for soem reason he can't seem to forget her, even though he wants to because he knows if he is around her, he will fall fo rher all over again, he can't stop needing her. This is kind of said int eh lines "I want to touch you, want to breathe you, Say, "Fuck you I don’t need you - get out...right now It's as if he is still struggling ot let her go. I think he has moved on, but not because he necessarily wanted to, but mroe he felt he had to. He felt they never kenw each other, but things changed, and he dones't want to think of her because he falls for all over again. This song hits really close to home for me. My gf and I broke up over two years ago, it was a bad breakup and it was also a very hard breakup due to the fact the intensity and depth of our relationship, we were together for 9 months and madly in love. But we ended up getting into a big fight and accusations of lying and no trust came into play. I think that is why i like this song so much. it hits really close.
