I love this song. I think that it's about how the one you fall in love with isn't usually the dream girl you've always had... that they're better than that.
I love this song too. It has pretty powerful meaning for me because I always imagined falling in love with my dream guy until I met my now boyfriend. I realized that love can come in all shapes and sizes.

I love this song. It's totally about having that one person in your head who you think is your ideal partner then you meet someone completely different then you thought you were going to end up with. This reminds me of my first gf, especially the "i like blue eyes, hers are green" and "so it took me by complete surprise when my heart got lost in those deep green eyes" it maks me think back to that moment when my dream girl wasn't what i fell in love with but this girl was so much more to me.
My now fiance told me that he really liked this song when we first started dating. He told me that this song reminded him of me. Little did he know that this has always been one of my favorite Andy Griggs songs.
