| Beck – The Horrible Fanfare/Landslide/Exoskeleton Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I've found some interesting info on wikipedia about the other guy who's speaking on "exokleleton", Dave Eggers. "On Beck's 2006 album The Information, Eggers can be heard talking with Spike Jonze during the final track, "The Horrible Fanfare/Landslide/Exoskeleton". The third section of the track features Eggers and Jonze responding to Beck's question "What would the ultimate record that ever could possibly be made sound like?"" |

| I have to say this song freaks me out too. Especially the end when those two guys talk like some lunatics. But good to listen to when you're stoned I guess ^^ | |

| Beck – Lonesome Tears Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Very dark with an almost insane, desparate ending. This is on par with "round the bend" and "how to disappear completely" from radiohead. Don't need to say this is a great song because I only comment on great songs :-D | |
| Amy Winehouse – Love Is A Losing Game Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
these lyrics are wrong. Here are the right ones: For you I was a flame Love is a losing game Five story fire as you came Love is a losing game One I wish I never played Oh what a mess we made And now the final frame Love is a losing game Played out by the band Love is a losing hand More than I could stand Love is a losing hand Self professed... profound Till the chips were down ...know you’re a gambling man Love is a losing hand Though I’m rather blind Love is a fate resigned Memories mar my mind Love is a fate resigned Over futile odds And laughed at by the gods And now the final frame Love is a losing game One the most touching lyrics I've ever seen. Best lyrics on the album and also one of the best songs I know in general. |

| KT Tunstall – Golden Age Lyrics | 19 years ago |

This is a cover of Becks song Golder Age on the Sea Change album. You might look at the entries for the orgintal songs for the meaning ;-) I think the cover is ok but it doesn't quite reach Becks emotional depth. Sea Change is a concept album about the mess one goes through after a long standing relationship ends. So it is best listened to as a whole. |

| Beck – Already Dead Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This is one brilliant and sad song. Sea Change as a whole is a biliiant album. What strikes me most is the line "Nothing's measured by what it needs". For me it descibes the fact that no matter how much you need that other person, the need will not get hin/her to stay with you or love you again. He's watching his relationship and love die. My interpetation, I could be wrong though | |
| James Blunt – High Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Oh man. This song reminds me of a girl I met yesterday. She was in the street for the wwf and while she was talking I just could help but smile. Even when I went on I couldn't stop smiling. It was kind of magic :-) Now I regret so much that I didn't talk to her longer. You can say I was pretty high at that moment and it took a few hours to wear off. Now I miss her even though I only spend 5 minutes with her. This song is a monument for her *gg*. Sometimes strange things happen... | |

lol@Afrika Shox, you really make me laugh. That was one stupid, meaningless comment. Anyway, I really like nearlyfar's interpretation. Beautiful, sad song. |

| Radiohead – How to Disappear Completely Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| btw forgot to say that this is one of the most hauntingly beautiful dissonant songs I've ever heart. It perfectly catches the lyrics and provokes a hollow feeling of loneliness and hopelesness. Love how the strings get out of tune and back again till the song reaches it's strange climax. Pure musical art. | |
| Radiohead – How to Disappear Completely Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Well, I didn't read all the other comments... anyway I think this song is about when something incredibly bad and painfull happens and you just shut down your mind and imagine yourself floating away, not being there to feel what's happening. It's about hiding inside yourself from something terrible. | |
| Coldplay – We Never Change Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
For me, this song is about recognizing that what we really want in life are the simple things. Being with your loved one(s), living in peace in a house. Still, we constantly make mistakes and all too often, those mistakes destroy those very things. It's like saying to yourself "I could have it so much better, it's all so easy. So why on earth did I do all those stupid things?". Also, it's about realising that life sometimes is so complicated that you just wanna "fly and never come down". |

| Keane – Put It Behind You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Somewhere I read that this was written by a band member for another member who had lost his girlfriend and just couldn't get over it. The song encourages me to put it all behind myself too... | |
| Keane – Atlantic Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I don't see religion at all. It's about our modern times and what's happening. The whole album has that topic showing up at various places. The singer feels confused and alienated by the surrounding world and turns to his lover for peace and security. If everything in the world goes wrong, he hopes to still have her till the end. So his girlfriend is his home and he can always turn to her when he feels insecure - like the only thing that really seems true. | |
| Coldplay – For You Lyrics | 19 years ago |

| Keane – We Might As Well Be Strangers Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
LooksLikeLove, I totally agree with you. My girlfriend broke up with me 2 months ago. It's so incomprehensible to see how two people that still shared everything together on one day just break apart and the next day, everything is lost. And now after those 2 months that we were separated, I feel like "we might as well be strangers, We might as well be living in a different world". "I don't understand your heart It's easier to be apart" is also very true, because I can't possibly understand how she chould stop loving me, so right now it's easier to be apart than to see her behave like some distant friend - like a person I don't recognise anymore. I hate and I love such songs at the same time. I hate them because I hate the truth they mean for me but I also love songs that really provoke a feeling. This song is brilliant because it is so simple and so true. |
