hmm i could be taking this the wrong way, and whilst the idea of this song being about sex is perfectly plausable, i see it as being more about the reignition of an old flame. for example the first verse:- 'Watch it go, watch it go, watch it go She'll have to cut it away To save her life And she knows, see she knows It's like a fatal disease, you'll hear her cry ohh' its like saying goodbye to the relationship coz the girl knows its best for her not to be in it for whatever reason, however its like a fatal desease that keeps coming back to her. the next two lines also suggest some sort of renewel of an old flame...:- 'Take this, make it something beautiful again Make this, make this happen cause you're beautiful to them' 'got you anyway' suggest that maybe thsee two people are still friends however their old feelings keep taking over hence he is saying 'Come, let's go again Tell me when And I'll be taking over' the second verse especially suggests looking back on a past relationship...with emphasis on the word again 'And you know that I'll never (I will do it again) Do it again (I'll take it away from you) And tell you I love you (I'll take it again) (I'll take it away from you) Say it again, again' finally the third from last stanza with lines such as 'and time stands still, it's like a picture' suggests that their feelings for eachother are still the same followed by 'and time moves on to the next one, i think of every word you said' perhaps meaning that even though he has moved on to another person he still thinks of every word this other girl said. overall i just think its about two ex-lovers who are trying to just be friends but their old feelings are still there and he is telling the girl that she just needs to tell him when and they will start all over again. yeah. im probably wrong but hey there is my take on the song! |

such a good song. it always makes me cry, the lyrics are so sad. 'everything between us makes me glow but how could you know?' and 'everything about us makes me grow but how would you know?' have to be my two favourite lines. its about a relationship that doesn't seem to be working or just hasn't started yet basically about all complications. sigh. |

| my take on this, is when you get along soo well with a person but you know you can't be with them. you have feelings for them but you can't act on them for whatever reason, and it just kills you cause you know you would be perfect together. so you have to send them away before you act on it and do anything stupid hence 'say goodnight and go'. prime example, a friend that you like who is 'taken'. | |
