Just Surrender – Your Life and Mine Lyrics 18 years ago
I hear Baby & You'll both, at different times.

Also, in the second verse, it makes more sense to say
"Last night I saw a photograph from the party where we chilld
It was CHARLIE and the two of us and the COLD 45 we killed"

I don't even know what a colt 45 is, but I imagine you don't kill it like you would a 45oz at a party, and Charlie was attending the party. I've tried hearing "showing" but it's awkward.

Noo it's definitely about a coke addiction... Self-inflicted here does not mean cutting, it means he chose to try the cocaine. The addiction was self-inflicted. When you cut, blood does NOT run from your nose...

Over It – Never Get Enough Lyrics 18 years ago
No one has commented? Holy cow. This song is amazing. It's about wanting something so bad, probably fame, I'm not sure, and wanting it so badly that you just continue to want more and more, and you want to see if you will have enough in the future, only to conclude to yourself that no matter how much you acquire, it will never be enough.

Missy Higgins – Sugarcane Lyrics 18 years ago
I can't really figure it out either. It will come to me later, but I was thinking something along the lines of this.

Maybe the little girl is abused and made fun of because of her screwing up in a recital? And so she's being told to be strong. And then the second verse talks about a stripper, and she's being empathetic, saying how the poor ballerina could be okay if she only had a "wall to hide" her. The always be afraid part, perhaps about how people can be so cruel?

The Wedding – Morning Air Lyrics 18 years ago
She made the relationship hell for him. Maybe she never had time for him and made him suffer, maybe she cheated, either way, she made his love deteriorate, because I do think it was there, just doesn't exist anymore thus him saying he loved her not. And so saying goodbye to her makes him feel free, that's why he's 'flying away.' I really love this song!

Chris Daughtry – Home Lyrics 18 years ago
I agree with armywifey [btw, I have the most ultimate respect for you and your husband]. But I think this song is about being away from someone you love, and finally being able to go back and reunite with the life you had before. It's about the relief you feel when you can finally go back home to what you'll always know. You're happy and proud of the experience and the choice, but you just miss your old life, and the people who love you/you love.

Sherwood – Song In My Head Lyrics 18 years ago
It's about a guy who really loved a girl, but he screwed up, and now he's trying to make up for his mistakes.

"Before the summer turned to brown"

Everything was okay before the fall, when he most likely cheated, or just screwed up however.

Say Anything – Where The Hurt Is Lyrics 19 years ago
She died, he misses her.

"I'm deprived of hope, I'm God's sick joke because he took you away"

rdavis' would make sense if not for that part, but God took her away as in her literally took her life away from him, she died.

I agree, anti.pretty.kid. It's saying that doing evil things is addictive, and basically accusing lawyers of doing bad things. I'm not sure. I haven't quite been able to piece this song together completely yet.

The Early November – 1000 Times A Day Lyrics 19 years ago
I actually think it's got a deeper meaning than just a story. He kept going after the same girl and finally married her. I guess it's not that much deeper, but it's not like TEN to just tell a story.

Either way...I love this song :]

Daphne Loves Derby – Hammers and Hearts Lyrics 19 years ago
She hurt him. He doesn't want to be friends, even though he still loves her and he wants to be with her, he's done "waiting" for her to change. She wants to change, but he doesn't want to hear it.

20 hours deep, I think that means the hurt is sinking in and has been for 20 hours?

All Time Low – Hometown Heroes; National Nobodies Lyrics 19 years ago
Ehh, I kinda agree, I kind of disagree.

Hometown heroes, national nobodies. The song is about an amazing band that makes the locals go wild, everyone around loves them.

"In rooms packed from window to wall"
That means that they are playing a local show so maybe they don't have much room to play, but a ton of people came and squished in just to here the amazing band play.

But because they're just a local band, they're "National Nobodies"

Imogen Heap – Hide and Seek Lyrics 19 years ago
It seems too narrow to say the relationship is Child & mother. Most songs are written for the beauty of interpretation - what you say. it's about someone somebody loves dying, but not necessarily mother and child, however it is such a great interpretation.

Last Winter – By The Way Lyrics 19 years ago
The girl thinks she can control the boy. Sovereignty is basicly power, and fairy tales, maybe she wishes she could control him, or have him "whipped" persay.

The second verse is basicly saying that she has him so locked, he's not allowed to do anything without her.

In the chorus, he sings about him being free of her "rule" and being alive, not her zombie anymore, and it doesn't matter what she says or tells him to do, because he's not listening anymore.

The last verse is just saying that even if she claimed her way was "right" or "true", he didn't believe in it, because he didn't believe in her. And she didn't matter anymore, because now that she doesn't have him to boss around, she's over.

Last Winter – Autograph Lyrics 19 years ago
I love Last Winter. Their lyrics are amazing.

Let's just say the song is singing about a girl..I don't know for sure but this is my perspective.

Basicly the first two lines are saying how they might not find what they're looking for, or do what they want, whatever, before their time..[oxygen] runs out.

She'll be known as the girl with a broken heart [her autograph] And he says she'll never leave the world as innocent, kind, loving--as a baby.

Every night they want a change. AS they look and wait for teh same things over and over [the echo], they wait for that change.

The last two lines means she's probably killing herself. Some see suicide as somethign beautiful, and usually it's done with pills. Or it could be she's popping pills to rid the pain of always waiting but never finding what they want. Clearly she is not happy with herself..[you'll never be the one to leave this world better than you found it] that says she'll only get worse with time. So maybe it is suicide.

Angels and Airwaves – Distraction Lyrics 19 years ago
Are you people serious? I think you should all be ashamed in yourselves [those of you to whom this applies...as in the ones who think Blink, BCR & especially AVA are..immature, whatever the heck you KIDS said]

It's immature to be so close-minded. Saying these songs don't mean anything? Are you serious? Wow. That's...so horrible it's funny. I could give a bad metaphor but I won't.

Those of you who are disappointed in Tom, say he can't sing, whatever kind of negativity you have towards AVA, WELL BITE ME. They're gonna be so big, they'll sell out. And yes I will hate it, but it will shove feet in the mouths of you insulent and oppinionated rockers who disrespect Tom and AVA.

It is that big of a deal. This band has my heart and soul, and you're killing not only them but me when you say such UNTRUE things! What could you possibly be thinking? I mean, this is a song meaning site. Yes, you can also share opinions, but why hate THAT bad on something? Do you have no better way to waste your time than tell somebody else that their band "sucks"?

How bout now, you spend it kissing my ass.

I LOVE BLINK, BCR, AVA, AND TOM TIL i DIE.

Taking Back Sunday – Miami Lyrics 19 years ago
I was thinking..well Adam reminds me of my cousin Jonathan in several ways, and just..with that point of view, here's what i see.

It's about a guy who has a secret, obviously, and he was with a girl, who probably kept bugging him about what the secret was, or maybe she was shocked with the secret, or whatever.

I was thinking his secret was drinking, maybe, because 'every hour on the hour' perception leads me to two possibilities. The first being, he drank a lot, every hour on the hour. Perhaps though, it could be that he was reminded of his secret every hour on the hour.

Another thing that leads me to believe it's drinking, what do people do in Miami? HELLO. They party. Parties always involve drinking. Maybe he became an alcoholic there?

Whatever the secret is, he knows he messed up and swears to never be like that again. The "Unhand me god damn me miami" is him practically begging for his past to be forgotten, clearly it haunts him.

Now my favorite part of the song. The terror held in wedding bells...well, when people get nervous, they drink do they not? The comfort in there's no one else truth be told I'm never gonna know. Maybe he got engaged in miami, got too drunk, forgot/missed his own wedding, and so she left him. Never gonna know, says to me, he'll never know what being married is like now.

Btw, I adore and worship TBS and this song.

Scary Kids Scaring Kids – A Breath Of Sunshine Lyrics 19 years ago
I hear bloom.

My cold heart is a place
Where true love cannot lose[BLOOM]
Cos I really don't see 'lose' making sense to the song. It's obviously about a break up that he's trying to get through, but he can't let go. Mab ethe whole thing was ruined because of his attitude, or just having a 'cold heart' that wouldn't let him love her. Those 2 lines sum it up for me, out of that whole song.

I disagree with Kurupt. I was agreeing, but then I thought about it, maybe it's a serious dilema he could only get out through writing? I mean, I don't really agree with putting something personal so out there, but maybe he does? Just my 2 cents.

Dream State – Change Lyrics 20 years ago
The point of this song is very clear, but it's still an amazing song.

It's about a person who's tired of being somebody else for everyone around them. He wants to do something for himself, and not do what he's told all the time. It's a common topic, but it can run so deep, and for Dream State, sound so captivating.

Jack's Mannequin – MFEO: Part 1: Made for Each Other/Part 2: You Can Breathe Lyrics 20 years ago
I agree with myndolyn. This song is definitely a drug reference.

His mattress is an ocean? It's a silly metaphor to get you thinking, maybe something's wrong. Then sweating, and excuses? He's hiding something and doesn't want to get caught.

"Lit one up"
Smoking maybe?

"Snow began to burn"
Is a big one. Crack/cocaine, often referred to as snow, burns your nose or throat, depending on how you take it.

When you're on drugs, you tend to think life is great, hence the cheery melody.
The world looks pretty crazy, but great, when you're high like that.

Myndolyn nailed the second verse, I'd just like to add, you MiGHT act crazy enough to hurt yourself so abd you go to the hospital, but from the other lines, I'm thinking when you put this together, they've got bad enough drug problems to desperately need help.

Firework days, well, I'm not quite sure on this, but fire=burning, or lighting, and maybe it's been a while since he's "lit one up".

But he still likes to get drunk, "burn out"

"haze of a car crash" Now he's smoking haze maybe? And the car crash reference could be saying it's a wild ride, crazy high.

"Orange airbag dust" I've never seen/done cocaine or any other drug, but maybe there's a drug that is orange and dusty? I know coke is dusty, but is it orange? Who knows.

But this song is clearly a drug reference. Clever, and great catchy song, but that's sort of a let down. I still love JM with everything I have though.
