i think that since a lot of the other songs seem 2 be about growing up & the child in u vs. the adult everyone wants u to be, that this is about that 2. i dont think its a love song at all. He's got 2 contradicting beliefs in his head hence the "2 sides twist and then collide" & then the image of a patient boy and a jealous man with the sheet (totally reminds me of makedamn sure). i can see this song in two ways: either she really did commit suicide b/c of "she'll always be 17" and thats how ppl remember her. or she didnt really commit suicide, its just figurative. b/c he says "her friends all shared the good times, man that girl has died" could mean that shes no longer that happy person. she might see all the love around her but other feeling might be 2 overpowering. i def. agree w/what was said about the girl seeminly having a great life. anyway figurative or not? i agree w/the ppl who said this is about the bf and the suicidal/depressed/who knows what else gf. in the beginning the gf takes so much medication her speech slurs & she's a wreck. the bf tells her she should have a little more poise when giving up who she used 2 b...(gf possibly dying) the bf asks if God's choking her, meaning kind of like "oh its not u killing urself, its part of God's plan right?" (sarcastic) He also tells his gf God isnt "running late" hes not coming at all b/c he called in sick. the gf considers the hospice relaxing b/c she gets all the attention. shes a patient there b/c she's both sick (mentally) & sad. the gf uses pills 2 solve her problems even tho she probly knows they cant help. the gf starts talking a lot saying things she might not say if she werent so drugged, hence the "i just cant help if u say wat every1 else is thinking" and "every word gets u a step closer 2 hell" b/c all the gf's antics the bf is alone b/c he doesnt really have a gf since shes so busy ("alone in this bed) he's away from his family b/c hes at the hospice (house) & probly alone in his way of thinking (and head"). she doesnt help him but she @ least takes his mind off wats goin wrong in his life, basically bein her bf. he stays w/her b/c she distracts him from his mistakes. and thats my opinion hope u like it. feedback would b nice b/c i love this song & wanna get the most outta it! |

ok i dont think a lot of u are gonna agree w/this but oh well. i think the music video TOTALLY relates 2 the song, it should actually help u understand the song better. the song is about growing up and not wanting 2. it just SEEMS like pete is talking to a girl but he's really addressing himself. he REALLY hates himself. ok, the video. vampires suck blood right? and as far as i kno blood=life. that means theyre sucking the life, even youth out of ppl. pete is one of them but he doesnt want 2 be b/c he hates the idea of that, so thats y he's a hunter. hence, "i dont blame u for being u, but you cant blame me for hating it" (hes talking to himself). the ppl dressed up really nice represent the adults that pete doesnt want 2 become & the girl they want pete to "kiss" may symbolize childhood or youth since they want pete 2 bite her. the whole vampire thing basically means that pete isnt a child even though he wants 2 be. but he's not an adult, so they dont like him. hes a vampire, someone who has kinda grown up..just a little (possibly a teenager?). but he doesnt want 2 be that, and there is nothing he can do so he's dedicated his life 2 hunting vampire, b/c at the begining of the video he says "u call urselfs hunters" or somethin like that. when pete is in the cop car in the end it shows adults always win b/c ppl assume teenagers r up 2 trouble. the girl is getting in a cop car too, do ppl ever believe children? no. one more thing. i saw FOB in concert. right b4 this song they talked about not wanting 2 grow up. so it most likely relates to that. & i dont think they would put somethin that random in a video, it all means somethin. well thats what i think. my friends thought i was crazy, hopefully u all dont. im in love with this video. let me know what u think! |

ok i dont think this song has any sexual inuendo, even you would think so from the title. its def. a whole bunch or metaphors... u guys take things way too literally. *i think the sleeping with someone in fob part of the title has more 2 do w/like a right of passage. b/c sleeping w/someone means losing ur virginity and kinda the beginning of ur adult life. *the cure 2 growing older part could mean something like he found the cure 2 growing & acting mature. that cure is dousing yourself in cheap perfume in an attempt 2 hide who you r, it may not cover it up, but its not being mature or an adult either. *marriage is another right of passage. the "some one old, no one new" could be like between childhood and adulthood *im pretty sure no one else looks at this song like this...but thats what i see |
