I don't know... it sounds more to me like he is talking about a break from drugs.

Your mind doesn't need a break from everything, usually your body does... but there's definately a time when your mind needs a break from drugs.

i agree its about running away. the persons probably thinking too much, hence he needs a break. and he knows someone who is just what he needs and will lead him to the sun (holiday).

the person is also tired of people complaining about needing a holiday when they dont. this bugs him b/c they dont think nearly as hard as he does and he really NEEDS the holdiay.

ps. i love when he says yeah yeah at the end.

There don't seem to be any interviews on this song. I agree with most of what the others have said, but I think it can be defined like:

The writer wants to take a break from something bothering his conscious. The first thing that I think is about is the media. "I take the things that my friends say I Should take" describes this.

In the chorus "The one" is probably referring to people/the media, who will eventually make the writer burn up "lead me straight into the sun" with stress over trying to make an impression with a standard set by the mass media.

That's basically what I pick up from the song.
