| Fiona Apple – Regret Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
This song is about being in a relationship with somebody who has put you in, as George Michael would phrase it "lover boy rules". Somebody who just wants to use you and discard you. That's supported by "I tried to be your friend you made me 'shamed." "Then you got sick and guess who took care of you. You hated that. Didn't you? Didn't you?" "And there you got me. That's how you got free. You got rid of me." The chorus is about how this guy simply spews hot piss every time he speaks. At first she was innocent and hadnt done anything to cause it, but at some point the fact you haven't left yet makes it your fault. |

A few lyrics that go against waht Dandeman2010 says are... "I had grown disgusted by your small-minded ceiling" This whole verse... "One day I’ll saddle back and speak of foreign adventures One day I’ll double back and tell you about these unfettered years One day I’ll look back and feel something other than relieved Glad that I left when I did before “no dear you can't” got the best of me" oh and the verse directly after it... "’d speak of artistry you would roll your eyes skyward When I’d speak of spirituality you would label it absurd When I spoke of possibility you would frown and shake your head If I had stayed much longer I’d have surely imploded" Oh, and you know how I only took one line out of the first verse to dis-prove him? well upon further examination the entire verse wouldn't make sense.... ummmm... dandeman... wtf mate? |

| Alanis Morissette – Wunderkind Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Welp, That just sounds like Alanis tho you guys... I'm sure she knew how to pronounce wunderkind and she pronounced it the way it would be in English, because she's just cool like that. | |
| Alanis Morissette – Surrendering Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this song is nothing like head over feet. that's ridiculous. | |
| Common Rotation – Savior Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| okay. so in the chorus when he says "breathtaking for a last supper" you're just going to ignore whatever he says after supper? you're like... "I'm just going to ignore this sound he makes cause I'm sure it doesn't mean anything." | |
| Alanis Morissette – Princes Familiar Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| okay. The song is pricness familiar. she wrote this song when she was living with a woman. also it's not "I love the way you press my buttons, so much sometimes i could strangle you." it's "So much sometimes I push them for you." | |

| Alanis Morissette – Right Through You Lyrics | 19 years ago |

this song, imo, has nothing to do with a past love. it's all about her trying to get record deals and these people just not taking her seriously, just wanting in her pants... second thought, that's not imo, that's what this song IS about. |

| i think she says you eat their questions for "A cert" not "dessert". i just think that. sounds more like an Alanis lyric than dessert... | |
| Alanis Morissette – Joining You Lyrics | 19 years ago |

So... I just found out that Alanis has a gay brother nad this really supports what i said before, especially considering I didn't know htat before i made the comment i made. yes, i am 100% sure she's talking to her brother. Homosexuality is SEVERLY hard. if you've never had to come out, you wouldn't understand. |

| Alanis Morissette – No Pressure Over Cappuccino Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"and and the last is about her And they laughed at you as you packed all of your things And they wonder why you're so angry" Personally being gay I would say no to this. I think she is still talking to her gay brother. i think she is talking to her gay brother through out the whole song. I love that she seems to always really understand what shes talking about in every song she sings. this song is 600 times better now that I know it's her talking to a gay man. |

I stopped typing too soon... It's like... this thing you guys have got going on... it's great, and people are changing and being better people... but they're not being people. they're being perfection, not themselves. They're not happy. |

| Alanis Morissette – Baba Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Baba is a person in India who claims to be God reincarnate. Many of his exfollowers say that he molested them and that while they were under the "mindcontrol" of Baba, they fooled themselves to think they were happy, when they were miserable. i believe this is total sarcasm "How long will this take Baba?" It's like... "Okay... I'm waiting..." "How much will this cost, Guru?" She's saying "how much money do you want for me to achieve Nirvana?" I believe this song isn't anti-religious, just anti-insanity |

| Alanis Morissette – Joining You Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| When she says 'your mother, my friend" i think she was saying just that... "your mother called me, my friend". I like the idea that the person who she was talking to in the song was coming out of the closet, but of course many many (if not almost all) of us have at one point thought of suicide, many have attempted, and many more have held a knife to their wrist and prayed for the courage to press just a little deeper. this song can mean anything. Much like almost all of Alanis's songs. | |
