| Evanescence – Tourniquet Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| It's a cover of the Soul Embraced song My Tourniquet and Rocky(who wrote it and was in SE) says it tells the story of a Christian who has committed suicide and hopes they will still be embraced by God. That really is what it's about-says so in the FAQ. | |
| Evanescence – My Immortal Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Ben wrote the song, and the story it was based upon, and it had nothing to do with a relationship with Amy. | |
| Evanescence – Missing Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
It's "I'll wake without you there" not "and". Plus there should be an "I" before "breathe deep". Sorry for my obsessiveness. My view was always that the song was written at a fairly young age for Amy, and that the people she wanted to be loved by were the members of her family-especially her parents, which fits more with "I won't be home again" than it would if it were discussing a relationship around her teens. But it's defenitely about wanting to be loved by someone who won't even notice you. |

| Evanescence – Imaginary (Fallen version) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Amy said the song was inspired by how she would always hide herself up in her room to escape the world. That's basically what it's about-building your own world to escape. |

| Evanescence – Hello Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Amy wrote the song based on the death of her sister when Amy was six and the sister was three. I really hope no one mentioned her sisters name on here, because they didn't want to reveal it in fear of people going to her grave. Read the old scans from Blender magazine, Amy talks about it a bit. In scattered articles she mentions it in bits. But anyway, it's about experiencing death at a young age. That's straight from Amy's mouth. | |

I'm pretty damned sure the person who posted this is some jackass from the anti-amy lee. Anyway, just go to LaDiablo's post on the 2nd page to see the story. |

| Evanescence – Going Under Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Ok, the person with the username Evanescence is full of shit and needs to shutup, I'm guessing it's someone from the anti-amy lee back for another playdate. It's about getting out of a bad relationship. The song WAS NOT based upon Amy's relationship with Ben, because it was mentioned the same person who inspired this song also inspired the Malice in Wonderland dress, and that person wasn't Ben. |

| Evanescence – Forever Gone, Forever You Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
It should be "You'd only take me to change my mind" I kind of liked the first explanation. That and John's eggo waffles are pretty much what it's about. |
|
| Evanescence – Farther Away Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
In the bridge you left out "Tried to forget you but without you I feel nothing" I think dead_snow_white's explanation was interesting. It defenitely has something to do with a relationship. I think it's about having already gotten out of a relationship, but still loving the person, but they no longer love you back. |

The last lyric is "So much more dismay in empty eyes" The lyrics are fairly literal, that's all I feel like saying. |

| Evanescence – Bring Me To Life Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
The original of BMTL doesn't have Paul McCoy's parts, so several lines are cut out, and it's just Amy and her piano. Amy said the song's about just going through the motions of life, and then having something happen to you that just wakes you up and makes you realise you've been numb all along, and now that you know this feeling you can't return to the way things used to be. |

| Evanescence – Breathe No More Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Actually, LaDiablo, the lyrics are correct except for the fact that it should be, "All the little pieces falling shatter" instead of "oh". You can actually read the lyrics from Amy's journal on the site. After my 1st Ev concert I asked Amy what exactly inspired the song, but I kind of want to keep what she said to myself. |
|
| Evanescence – Bleed Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I think the song is possibly about seeing someone being abused, but being afraid to tell, yet knowing you have to anyway. At any rate, it's about knowing a secret you're afraid to tell, but you must. Bleed's the correct title-I Must Be Dreaming became a nickname later. |

| Evanescence – Away From Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
cailin, your lyrics are wrong, benni's are right. Evanescence have never been a Christian band-and they've all stated it. Some of their members and ex-members have been and are in Christian bands, and Tourniquet is a cover of a Christian song-but that's it. The song's about working hard and deceiving people to get to a certain goal, only to realise what horrible things you've done and the terrible person you've become, and wanting to be free of it. |

| Misfits – Dig Up Her Bones Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Why the hell is it everytime I talk about punk bands someone has to get into all this nazi shit? I agree with E6PUNK. This is actually my favourite song of theirs. I get the whole, "I miss the old line-up!" thing, but this is a great song, and the fact that it was written when he was 14 is incredible. Anyway, I think the song is meant to be fairly literal. |

| Misfits – Die, Die My Darling Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Ugh. I'm tired, so I fucked up on grammar. I meant to say she drove him insane. | |
| Misfits – Die, Die My Darling Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Eh...most of the stuff you guys are talking about has nothing to do with the meaning. I agree most Misfits songs are about horror movies. Though I don't know what this would be based on if it is. I think it's about a guy killing this girl that he cared about, but drived her insane and they've basically both signed their lives away. PS: The Metallica cover was good, but it was not better. |
