It's a wonderful song. Kinda grows on you. If you listen closely to the part where the lyrics say: "No one ever die from wanting to much" She distinctly sings: "No one never die from wanting to much" Which makes more sense anyway. |

When he says "...holy and the divine" he may not be refering to Christianity. It's more likley to be what people in pop culture worship like in starfuckers, inc. Or maybe supposed American values. Also, sometimes artists sing to themselves, especially when the lyrics are critical. Just a point to ponder. |

I rekon the multiple personality disorder theory is almost correct. The figures in the clip are definitley components or even archetypes of his personality. Anyone who'se gone "down that path" would understand it. Is that girl a she or a he with long hair? It could be his inner child. Maybe he feels he lost his innocence. Also, has anyone noticed the keys on the piano in the film clip? at the begining, keys D, A and C are stuck down. And maybe keys G and D towards the end (but maybe not). It could just be an old piano but it could be something. Reznor and very few others understand Absinthe's significance which is way beyond the goth subculture (as is his music). Besides the placebo effect, it's effect is too subtle for most to appreciate. |

I've herd references to the White Horse and the White Dragon being cocaine. Though, the White Dragon sounds more like an opiate. Anyways, the white horse is most likley cocaine rather than heroine or "lower class" stimulants. Powerfull sounds in this song nonetheless. |

Does have official lyrics? please post them. One last thing: Is it just me or does this part of the song have "hidden, cryptic meaning" written all over it? Also note the "You will never be home again" written at the end of the film clip. What does this song mean? Anyone? Either way it's my favorite. |
