Yellowcard – Gifts and Curses Lyrics 20 years ago
Allrite, so this song is obviously entirely about Spiderman 2, although it can also relate to other issues about love and responsibility.

This song essentially tells of Peter Parker's love for Mary Jane and all the emotions he feels for her. He wants her so badly and wants to always be there for her, but knows he can't because he is Spiderman. It is explained in the movie that all those he loves will always end up getting hurt, and he doesn't want Mary Jane to get hurt. Thus, his only option is to stay away. I like the part about seeing Mary in the bright New York sky, which is referring to Spiderman seeing billboards of the now famous Mary Jane when he is swinging through the city. He is constantly thinking of her and she is permanently in his mind. He knows that she is the one, but he feels that his number one purpose is to be Spiderman. He is struggling to not tell her the truth. At the end of the first movie, Peter explains how being Spiderman is his gift, but at the same time his curse, hence the title of this song. It is a gift because it gives him the strength and ability to be Spiderman and help those in need. But it is his curse because it lays so much responsibilty on him that sometimes he doesn't want. It takes away from what he really does want, specifically Mary Jane. He will always fight on, and until he can find the strength to tell her he is Spiderman, it will have to be his painful secret.

Overall, absolutely amazing song! I love the lyrics and I love how Yellowcard was able to tie in the entire storyline of the movie into an incredibly catchy song. There is so much underlying meaning within this song that doesns't even need to relate to Spiderman, and that's what makes it that much better.

Farewell to Arms – From Your Lips To My Lungs Lyrics 20 years ago
Allrite so in my opinion, this song is the best track on the Catherine Barkley album. The song is obviously about a guy's love for a girl. He feels unworthy and the girl is literally breathtaking. However, she gives him the breath he needs to go on, and it makes him feel so much more weak and unworthy to her.

Farewell to Arms – Blood Pushes Through Veins Lyrics 20 years ago
I don't know this for sure, but I think that this song is trying to tell a tragic story. It is describing in very vivid detail, a terrible car accident that happened. The person in the song has gotten into a fatal crash but feels too young to be dying so soon. He wants to preserve his youth and stay alive, but he can't. So into death he must dive. I absolutely love the lyrics and everytime I listen to this song, I can see the entire accident playing out in my head. It paints such a good picture and the songwriting is just incredible.
