Am not a fan of the Lucinda Williams part, but overall I LOVE this song!! Beautiful.
I also really like the "Come day, go day..." part. It's actually from a Scottish folk song (Google it). I love that they included it. |

I think it's about being broken up and still having feelings for the person and knowing that they still have feelings for you, but neither of you will admit it. You can pretend that you're okay, but you meet again and hope that it will work out despite the whole not admitting it thing. A really beautiful song. |

I think this song can be two things.
1) The literal meaning: A school kid who is fed up with his school, the system and all the meaningless crap he's being taught.
2) It's all a metaphor for the lies we're told by the government. I think this one is more likely the true meaning because all of that just because of a dislike of everything school seems a bit much. Plus, it just seems more Killradio. |
