Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) (Nancy Sinatra cover) Lyrics
I was five and you were six
we rode on horses made of sticks
he was black and i was white
and he would always win the fight
bang bang
you shot me down
bang bang
i hit the ground
bang bang
had that awkward sound
bang bang
my baby shot me down
seasons came and changed the time
when i grew up i called him mine
he would always laugh and say,
"remember when we used to play?"
bang bang
you shot me down
bang bang
i hit the ground
bang bang
had that awkward sound
bang bang
my baby shot me down
now hes gone
and i dont know why
and i sometimes cry
he never said goodbye
and take the time to lie
you shot me down
bang bang
i hit ground
bang bang
that aweful sound
bang bang
my baby shot me down
we rode on horses made of sticks
he was black and i was white
and he would always win the fight
you shot me down
bang bang
i hit the ground
bang bang
had that awkward sound
bang bang
my baby shot me down
when i grew up i called him mine
he would always laugh and say,
"remember when we used to play?"
you shot me down
bang bang
i hit the ground
bang bang
had that awkward sound
bang bang
my baby shot me down
and i dont know why
and i sometimes cry
he never said goodbye
and take the time to lie
bang bang
i hit ground
bang bang
that aweful sound
bang bang
my baby shot me down

these are the lyrics for their lowlands performance i found on youtube and this is a nancy sinatra cover i like this one A LOT better they changed the lyrics a bit too
They played this at Virgin Festival!!! It was AMAZING! One of the best individual songs I've EVER seen live!
Yeh played this in Manchester a couple of weeks ago - it was superb!! Jack White's voice screaming the chorus, wow, just can't beat it.
In one of the versions, he says "he was black and I was white" Maybe he relates this song with the way he broke up with meg, and this part referrs to him and her, since White is her last name, his is Gillis.
...or he's just bringing something racial to it....
great song. better than the original. hopefully they'll do a studio.version either!
