After watching the video clip, maybe the song could have a double meaning? To me, the video clip reminds me of a political comment about people wanting designer babies. How people want their children looking perfect, or sporty, and Thom York is in the shopping trolley as a metaphor for people potentially willing to shop for DNA strands to make their child "perfect." Therefore, the title "Fake Plastic Trees" could also mean the old metaphor of growth and their child starting off as a seed, before growing into a fake plastic tree, as their parents have selected what they will be good and and how they will look. Just an idea. I know it doesn't have too much connection to the lyrics, moreso the music video clip. |

My interpretation of the song is that after all the fighting the girl has decided to leave: "She’s gone She left before you woke" And parts of the songs is the guy saying to himself to go to the bedroom (often where the most fondest of memories are kept and photos etc) and get the strength to look outside the window and see the beauty of the world - hope. Even after all of the fighting they have had, the guy can see hope and light at the end of the tunnel, even though their relationship/marriage died. Without death there cannot be life, thus the need for: All the living are dead and the dead are all living That one relationship died and a new one can now begin. |

the blue light, i believe is the tv/av button, press that and a blue screen comes up, but then again it could be a metaphor as blue light is used to mean gloom or melancholy, for those that watch stage plays. Maybe they have seen the documentary Outfoxed and are commenting about the media in that way too. |

Thats pretty cool Hannn. I have been meaning to pick up his autobiography for a long time as i've grown up listening to them (even though they were past my days). Pretty easy to see a kind of a storyline to the actual lyrics about a guy that falls in love with a prostitute and is trying to pursuade her to stop her prostituting and stay with him. I'm presuming to be all in vain as the general psychology of a prostitiute would suggest she just sees him as just a customer (i'm not actually conveying the meaning). Man Fall Out Boy absolutely butchered this song. shame on them. One thing the Police have that Fall Out Boy will never have IMO is the feel of the music. You can see through Stings vocals and the emphasis of notes of the band. |

i think its about a 'hoon' that gets into a car accident and kills a passenger. reading other peoples comments about a relationship, presumably their partner. 'breathe in, breathe out' is the adrenaline rush the person gets from speeding 'better than the rest' a 'hoon' feels like they have to prove something to other people that they can go faster, drive better than anyone else, so they will try to prove it, getting a euphoric high by accomplishing something, so they will continue it again. in otherwords, an addiction. 'i walk from my machine' means he has crashed his car 'starting to deserve this leaning on my conscious wall' means he is feeling guilt and regret from being a 'hoon' 'blood is like wine' wine stains, so does blood. with the reason he killed someone, it stains his life and everyone around him. if you spill wine on a cloth, it spreads as well as if its red wine too. |

This song, when it gets released in stores (its already been leaked as torrents), is two parts, with the second part the last couple of stanzas. To do this song justice, i sent in the 2nd part. This song isnt too bad. One of the better tracks (both parts) off the album. Brandon's lyrics are the standout. water is about a purity sort of thing. I think Brandon is trying to say instead of destroying our society, to conceptulise better ways of living, which links to what foreverSurf said :) |

Fairly good new song. album is very different. i would of put more songs from "Three's" but Jim Wards vocals are hard to decipher. With the actual meaning of the song, i have no idea. maybe it might be speaking up for what you want in the world. Maybe it could be political with asylum seekers sewing their mouths together, though that would be hard to justify. |

this song is a bit of an oxymoron. A funeral is perceived to be morbid, whilst the music is rather upbeat and euphoric, so theres got to be a more deeper meaning, wether it being about giving a requiem and not giving a rats about the person (well who really is upbeat at a funeral), i dont know. Its funny the amount of rubbish comments, if someone wants to bag STD, good for them they are allowed to have their 2 cents, but ignore them. biting back is stupid and pointless, its like arguing with a brick wall, you arent gonna change someones perception of a song. |

I'm going along the president bush type theme, a lot of the songs off 'Porcelain' do have a fitting political theme and i was watching a video on "youtube" of this song and over all their amps they have the words "STOP BUSH" taped. Also watching live Lollapalooza, they showed their discontempt for Bush a few times, i vaguely heard the word "Bush" before 'While Oceana Sleeps' (as AT&T censored a lot of their talks to the crowd). i wouldnt say Peter Garrett "willia05 " i think he sounds more like Michael Hutchence in the start. after much thought and watchin the video in its entirety, its more a political song, how in the end they have themselves in the car boot, therefore killing themselves. "all of us stand and point our fingers" and "the argument over all continues " hi-lights this as we blame each other for the problems in the world, but who acts upon those problems? eventually we are killing ourselves with the problems such as the Greenhouse Effect and destroying the Ozone layer being talked about, but nothing really being done, coal still being burnt etc etc. Black Fingernails relates to how people get dirty in the issues of the world, with the line "the argument over god continues" Red Wine is just about what i earlier mentioned, that we are dying (red wine being a metaphor for blood) because of ourselves. Just my two cents, could be wrong. |

pretty good new song from EJ, more rocky than anything from their last album, which is a good change as i preferred "Girl." I dont think the lyrics are 100% atm. Black fingernails, red wine, i dont know but by going on the film-clip, its about 'getting your hands dirty'=black fingernails and then trying to clean up the evidence: red wine= blood. i think it might be a bit more involved then that though. |

well yeh Karnivool are awesome :) one of the best bands to come out of Australia (and WA) in a while. Ive seen them live heaps, it was awesome seeing them i think it was Rock-It and the tumpet and trumbone player (i think) from Cat Empire make a special appearance for this song :P Well a Roquefort is defined as: "A trademark for a soft cheese made from sheep's milk and ripened in caves near Roquefort, France." either that that i dont really know what it means, perhaps finding true love, like in the last stanza. And we need more comments :P |

im not entirely sure, but isnt this song about how they werent going to make another album and split for good, but ended up making this album and they are just appreciative that they got to make another album together? They broke up recently, to my dismay, they put some good music out there. They said that the album "Animal" was mainly for closure. |
