| Drive-By Truckers – The Righteous Path Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Two friends, same upbringing, and one isn't doing so well as the other. I imagine they spent some time in jail (or juvie) when they were young, and the guy who is singing has bettered his life. His friend "can't get it right, no matter how he tries". | |

| R.E.M. – Find The River Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
to me, it's the last part of a threefold. Man on the Moon - Nightswimming - Find The River, perfect. Man on the Moon is about playing games, youth, school, college. The young man with his life ahead. Then comes nightswimming, the bitter old man who threw his life away and reflects upon his childhood and years of fun but no working on the future in college, getting addicted to all sorts of crap. Then comes this song, the man left with no reason to live. I think the river is his wild, rocky life, and the ocean is the immense pool of death, where the river becomes a fortune to the undertow. Nothing is going my way, but I screwed it up all by myself. Awesome song |
