| Besides that, great song! | |
| Heartless Bastards – The Mountain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Hate to say this, but this song is definitely about drugs. | |
| Arctic Monkeys – Balaclava Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
the only person who is right about this song in my opinion is big tyme. this song is about unprotected sex. balaclava's definition is a close-fitting, knitted cap that covers the head, neck, and tops of the shoulders, worn esp. by mountain climbers, soldiers, skiers, etc. balaclava = jimmy hat = condom |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Snow (Hey Oh) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
- the "I got your Hey oh...." refers to Yayo(cocaine). also, this songs title is Snow which also refers to cocaine. - come on... this is a hallucination of being on heroin "In between the cover of another perfect wonder Where it’s so white as snow. Running through the field where all my tracks will be concealed and there's nowhere to go". all in all i guess this a druggie song. But still dope as all hell. Red Hot Chili Peppers are magical and I will be at their concert in august. The suburbs will be flooded with Yayo this summer. :) |

| Elliott Smith – Speed Trials Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| "running speed trials still standing in place" to me this line isn't about doing drugs. even though everyone who is an avid elliott smith fan, as i am, knows elliott had his fair share of dabbling with drugs. but come on... he is really intelligent and a more in depth character than just another junkie. but i believe this line refers to Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass, in which the Red Queen tells Alice, "[I]t takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place." This never-ending evolutionary cycle describes many natural interactions between hosts and disease, or between predators and prey: As species that live at each other's expense coevolve, they are engaged in a constant evolutionary struggle for a survival advantage. They need "all the running they can do" because the landscape around them is constantly changing. | |
| Elliott Smith – Placeholder Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
before i go on about this song. i want to tell you guys about my religous beliefs. i don't believe in any prophets. but i do believe there is a god. if you read alot as i do you would realize our world is to perfect for there not to be one. alright... since i got that cleared out the way. i think this song is really about life/death and god. "just like my favorite song. some pretty words that didn't last that long. like a package sent priority overnight" - i believe it is stating life is short "a placeholder till you take up mine" - i think he is talking to god and pleading for him to take his soul "up" to Heaven when he passes. |
