| Yellowcard – Two Weeks From Twenty Lyrics

Hmm, well I dunno about you guys, but this song just wasn't very convincing to me. Just the way they threw this one political song into the middle of the album, it doesn't seem to fit. Seems like maybe they just wanted to jump in with all the other bands that are expressing political views.
Maybe, I'm wrong. Maybe they put a lot of thought and work into this song, but it just doesn't feel like it to me. |

divorce?? Sounds like the father ran off and abandoned his wife and son, and the song is telling of how it effects the whole family. "No one is safe." |

The music video for this song is really cool. I don't think it has a whole lot to do with the real meaning of the song, but in the video the world is in chaos as if the world is about to end and you see everyone trying to make the most of the last 3 minutes of their life. |

| The Robot Ate Me – On Vacation (II) Lyrics

I think the "store down the street" is probably a key part to the song, with it being in the chorus and all. I'm thinkin that it's referring to how, even if you go on vacation to get away from the rest of the world, you can never completely escape (hence the store where they have to go to buy the things they forgot). The world around you is always affecting you, and no matter how hard to try to get away from it, you'll never quite make it. |

I really like this song. I think the meaning is fairly clear.... except for the last verse, I'm not exactly sure how it ties into the rest of the song. But basically what I get out of it is that he's not afraid to die because he knows death is not the end. |

| The Killers – Somebody Told Me Lyrics

what the heck?? People should stop basing their interpretations just on the lines:
"Well somebody told me
You had a boyfriend
Who looked like a girlfriend
That I had in February of last year"
That's just a rumour as already stated in the song and a rediculous rumour at that.
I agree with dlewis' thoughts on this song (see top post on this page).
The guy is just tryin to hook up with a girl and he's not gonna let a stupid rumour stop him. |

Has anyone else noticed that the bass line is the exact same as the opening to the bus theme from Earthbound??

I wish Franz would do more songs like this... I really love this song. And I agree with gmac, it does sound rather like the beatles (who even happen to have their own song about an Eleanor). I think that they may have been aiming for a beatles-esque sound on this song... if so, they nailed it beautifully. |

| The Killers – Andy, You're a Star Lyrics

This debate will probably go on forever, but I think it is a song almost definitely about a stalker. It doesn't necissarily have to be about Brandon Flowers himself (I don't know/really even care if Brandon is Bi or not). But If you really think about it, the other songs on the album are about jealousy and murder and all that kinda stuff so I don't think it's too crazy to say this song is about a guy stalking another guy.
Lots of people have been anylizing the "in a car with a girl, promise me shes not your world" line. What it means to mE is that the stalker sees Andy with a girl and is jealous/afraid that Andy may already be in love with this girl, thus giving the stalker little chance of becoming part of Andy's life.
Anyway... that's what I think. |
