| Green Day – No One Knows Lyrics

I personally think that it is a song about an inner graduation and an unwillingness to want to grow up. (like many of you have covered.) I also think that it is about how he has no idea about where his life is going to end up going--which seemed to turn out great--because of the lines "is there something i should find/to make plans for forever" it is left so confused and open.
It is such a relationable song, and a classic at that. |

Ok so sadness, depression, some apathy, desire for alike company, and rock bottom internally and emotionally. It all makes sense.
No wonder it is such a great song. |

Well, i say that the lines "come into our home/wont you stay/i know the steak is cold/but it's wrapped in plastic" is kind of a hopeless feeling of being this person that is looked at a such a drag and a disgust but wanting to be accepted because they arent bad even though they are different *cold*. Not like Manson feels hopeless now, but in an interview he said that he used a lot of his childhood poems and stories as inspiration for his first songs. And kids tend to feel different and tend to want to be accepted. |

I agree with the lost messiah. He does mention that he begins to cry in the middle of the song. (And i have no idea if they used that specific recording for the real song, but if they did you can kind of see how it sounds really hoarse and depressed in the specific part he says that he cried during. This would be "i feel the empty/i feel the minute of decay/im on my way down now id like to take you with me/im on my way down.) Oh and did i mention while he was crying he was snorting coke too. Not unusual but all the same a very depressing habit/addiction. So yes, this is definitely about rock bottom. |

Again:
"I'm not in love but im gonna fuck you till somebody better comes along."
I think this is Manson's way of communicating a lot of the girls he fucked over the course of his life's motto. They just wanted sex... and oh yeah it didnt hurt that he was a fucking amazing rock star. |

well again with the lines: there is a dream inside a dream, im wide awake the more i sleep, you'll understand when im dead."
I think that it means that the more he has hidden dreams that he dreams about within his dreams and he is more aware the more he sleeps or dreams. In his auto-bio he mentions that he completely believes in dreams and that they are as important as the waking hours. Dont know much about "you'll understand when im dead" though. |
