I wasn't sure at first, but I think I agree with Laidbackdude. I think "Blood" is referring to the actions of the flesh in this song, and "wine" being the blood of Christ and how it will be hard to overcome the temptations, even with Christ, now that you have tasted blood. If you are born again, you can probably relate. Christ does give you clean slate, but your mind doesn't forget all that you have done or all that you have "tasted." |

When he was touring last fall, this song was called "Prodigal Son." The song very closely resembles the story in the Bible (Luke 15:11-32). Dustin added little things like "fancy cars" to modernize it slightly, but still same great story. and an amazing song. |

You also gotta remember John Nolan is from Long Island, former singer of TBS, and brother of Michelle (who Adam dated) who is also a "choir boy" and things ended on bad terms. And as far as I know, Adam didn't have an issue with Jesse, it was John who had the drama with Jesse (which has now been reconciled). I think the song is about John Nolan, I think most of the album is about their music rivalry and ended friendship. |

weren't His last words, "it is finished" meaning that we have nothing to worry about, because Jesus died for our sins? That would make sense why "your last words will sustain me." It is the last words of Jesus that give us hope in the promises of the Lord. also, "until I see you again" we may not have knowingly seen the Lord, but He says in the Bible that He saw us before we even existed and created us in the image of the Lord. and..."everything can be proven by science...be realistic" Actually, nothing can be proven by science. There is no such thing as a scientific fact, only Scientific theories, and a theory isn't proven, it just hasn't been disproven. Can you scientifically prove to me, that unless you can scientifically prove somthing, it isn't real? You can't scientifically prove that love exists, so does that mean that I don't really love my Mom? because YOU can't scientifically prove it? |

Matthew 6:19 So...Thricecube, you still think this song has absolutely no biblical reference? As a Christian yourself, you should be able to find that verse and the idea that Dustin may sing about his faith in every song shouldn't be a suprise to you either, because as a Christian, you should know that Jesus called us to go and share his word to the ends of the Earth. You can speak without believing, but you can't believe without speaking. As for the Buddhist references, sure the teachings of Buhha were anti materialistic, but the Bible also teaches that everything in this world will pass away, which I think this song discusses as opposed to us being one with the Universe. |
