To me, this song is about a Summer love which also happens to be the guy's first love, but unfortunately for him, the relationship is ending.
"I don't want to ever love another." - the youthful bliss of thinking your first love will be your last. If only we were all this lucky.
"You'll always be my thunder." - she'll always be his first love, regardless of what happens.
"So bring on the rain, oh baby bring on the pain, and listen to the thunder." - he knows it's over, bring on the feelings of emptiness and the pain of breaking up with someone you truly love.
This song reminds me a lot of Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams. |

To me, this song is about someone thinking twice before leaving someone they love.
Does their heart really want to just let them go and forget them, or would they regret it?
The tone of the song implies regret, so possibly the singer made the mistake of leaving someone she did truly love, and doesn't want other people to do the same. |

After reading Rufiobrodie's (If that's the truth,the lyrics do go with it) reply,I listened to the song and my eyes teared up a litte because I have had a parent die as well.
