I think this song refers to a girl who messed up their relationship and moved on..then later hers worlds falling through...but he cant do anything cos hes not with her and its her own fault "what could i do?" I then think that she messed up by maybe having an affair with someone she told him was friend? "You told me that he was your friend,

I think this song is quite simple and clear.. hes lost without her...hesasked her for a relationship and shes thinking about it...but he doesnt want her to think about things too much, cos maybe that will make her answer no? he cant have her..."is there a cost attached to you" or he may be referring to how nice she is... and there must be a cost attached to her and he obviously cant afford her... |

For some reason this song sortof sounds like some sort of an affair,,, what with... sneak on over darlin'..... and "bad bad you, bad bad me" maybe the magazines are some excuse to go to his house? "lines are gettin shorter everytime" maybe means they are close to being caught? "yes bad bad you, bad bad me is all we'll be left with, anyway" hes saying thats all that will come of the affair.. a feeling of guilt and nothing more...no love? just lust? hmmm i dunno i like the song anyways :) |

I have no idea if im right or not, but i always think he is basically telling emily that hes fed up with her. Shes messed him about and gone off with different people and then would come crawling back crying and he would always be there for her and listen to her...he was always her shoulder to cry on...but now shes done it too many times, and no matter how much he still loves her he just cant do it any more... |
