I think this song is quite simple and clear.. hes lost without her...hesasked her for a relationship and shes thinking about it...but he doesnt want her to think about things too much, cos maybe that will make her answer no? he cant have her..."is there a cost attached to you" or he may be referring to how nice she is... and there must be a cost attached to her and he obviously cant afford her...
