Collective Soul – Shine Lyrics 20 years ago
Beautiful song. I'd suspect Ed reads (or read at the time) a ton of gnostic interpretations of Christianity. Album to album, you can read this into his lyrics. And REDRUM- IF you meant to decry the lyrics of the artist, simplicity does not equal "sucks". I get so much more out of CS than all of Coheed & Cambria's albums.

This IS one of the greatest songs to come out of the 90s. Gorgeous arrangements, vocals, hooks. So much of CS's stuff seems to bring out a certain energy, a positivity. Its addictive.

Collective Soul – Heaven's Already Here Lyrics 20 years ago
I agree, but I've used it in a church service before too. If you believe that the Bible is not literal and that Jesus meant "the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand" to mean that we make our heaven on earth, it fits nicely. One of my favorite CS songs.

Collective Soul – Tremble For My Beloved Lyrics 20 years ago
Ed wrote this for his newborn baby. I can sympathize, having been witness to the birth of my daughter around the same time. Simple and truthful song, among the best by CS. And an AMAZING intro... I'm so surprised that no pro sports teams have taken the field to the stirring build.

Collective Soul – Untitled Lyrics 20 years ago
It is "Untitled" because nobody knows the name of God. God is undefinable. VERY intentional title by Ed.
