| Johnny Hollow – Human Lullaby Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Personally, I think this song relates to retrospect: how when falling asleep and while not being distracted by the presence of another ("lonliness is sweet"), you are fully able to think over the activities and events of the previous day and mull over reasons for things which may have eluded you. The first verse is about anticipating sleep and dreams, and the second verse is about insight into the way the world works - the mechanism turns, the molten lava churns etc represents the insight that you gain with the ability to rationally think things over on your own. "Yesterday just burned away" is, in a way, Johnny defining yesterday by the level of uncertainty you have about prior events, and not just the time of day/night... perhaps that's why whenever you pass out intoxicated, the days seem to merge together? Just a thought. |

| The Dresden Dolls – Dirty Business Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"Poster Girl could refer to her being placed on a pedistool because she is famous." - I actually think it's slightly more than that: she's wonders if she's the "poster girl" for the kids who were trodden on and never very important at school (the "suburban sickness"), but then blossomed into famous and talented people later in life. I also agree with CoinXOperatedXGirl, it's definatly got a "look at me now" feel to it. I'm not sure if it's about a high school reunion, but I wouldn't be suprised if it is. I love this song. |

| The Dresden Dolls – Sing Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
It's actually "you motherfuckers you'll sing someday!". This song just seems to be about how in the modern world, you can't sing anywhere you want to in public because we're afraid of what other people will think and do (fear is keeping our lungs and lips locked), and how singing is a beautiful thing... and that we should do more of it, even if people are around. Amen, Amanda. |

| Daft Punk – Robot Rock Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| About robots and how they rock. Or something. Whatever. Two words. | |
| Daft Punk – Technologic Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Makes me think about the routines we go through, and how so many of those are now technology based. | |
| Daft Punk – One More Time Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| About the way that when you're dancing in a club you don't care about how sweat covered or how tired you're getting, you're so caught up you just keep dancing ("music's got me feeling so free"), and you just want to keep dancing ("One more time"). Simple meaning, simple song... it's awesome anyway. | |
| Daft Punk – Crescendolls Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| What kind of name is Crescendolls? What is it supposed to mean? Whatever, this song's great anyway. | |
| Daft Punk – Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I prefer to just call it Electronica. | |
| Daft Punk – Around the World Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love daft punk. A good majority of the time the songs are just pure eletronical fun. No bullshit, no meaning, no complex lyrics. Just feel good shinazzle, ohhhhh yeah. | |
| Daft Punk – Too Long Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I'll admit, most daft punk songs do not have any underlying meaning, but I don't care about that. They're great fun to listen to. However, I do believe this song has a meaning. This song reminds me of myself, at the moment. For ages I've had this great huge to do list about various habits and problems I have, and things I want to have. I've just got out of school for the biggest holiday EVER, and I am finally free to do what I want to do without having to worry about exams and/or studying - I can finally let myself worry about my own problems and put my life in order (eg. FINALLY losing some weight, getting a good wardrobe, choosing and getting a decent haircut for the first time, etc). It might not be this songs meaning, but that's what this song reminds me of. Also, yes - the name is a sort of pun on the song itself, as this song is the longest on the album. |

| What the heck is the Japanese reference to? | |
| The Dresden Dolls – Me and the Minibar Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
... this is the first time I've ever felt sad at a dresden dolls song. The ending is all... *sniff* To me it sounds like her man or whoever she was with going to spend the night with her on her birthday, but he left the hotel before the dinner (chances are he ran away, from the sad tone of the song) - but she goes ahead and has her dinner for two without him anyway. She then drinks her way through the minibar, sad and alone, until she collapses. :'( |

| The Dresden Dolls – Gravity Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The first thing I think of when listening to this is people sleeping their way to the top, so to speak. | |
| The Dresden Dolls – The Jeep Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Ahhh, what an awesome song. No disputing the meaning, but it's god damn hilarious as well. | |

| Johnny Hollow – Stolen Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song sounds so violent. The emphasis Jan places on the friccatives and the sheer distortion of the music reminds me of a sharp serrated blade. For some reason this song reminds me of a stabbing. I can't pick up a meaning though. | |
| Johnny Hollow – Gone Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Ugh... um, this is probably JH's worst song. The opening lyrics are typically gothic and fairly generic in comparison to their other lyrics. But the tune is still good. As for the songs MEANING, well, lets put it this way... if I don't grasp the meaning of a JH song right away, I generally avoid trying to find it out... 'cause even at the best of times, I wouldn't want to guess what's going on inside the depths of Johnny's head... *shivers* |

| Johnny Hollow – Bag of Snow Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"Don't you know hwo to fly, boy?"/"Don't you know how to fly?" = one of the best lyrics ever uttered in any song. I personally prefer Tremor to this one, but this ones still alright. Too talky, though. The song meaning? Uhh... I guess it's describing exactly the motive behind the formation of Johnny Hollow. They hate generic poppy crap for one, to the point where they'd probably willingly murder Britney or J-lo. Probably. And they seem to be anti-society, against everything... well, read the lyrics to get a better idea. |

| Johnny Hollow – Rasputin Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I corrected the lyrics. :D Anyway - this song to me seems to be about a dark person who seduces someone else into their world through passion, mystery and lust. That's just what I think when I hear the song (and, Rasputin was famed for seducing women.) |

| Radiohead – Creep Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I'm not a big Radiohead fan, in fact this is one of the only ones that I like enough to listen to regularly. (don't bother reading this if you don't want to read a LONG song interpretation.) Not every lyric will fit this description perfectly. This song will mean different things to different people. Our experiences in life will make us think about different things when listening to this song. For me... It reminds me of a girl I know. It's not the fact that she's a girl and everybody else has said it's about a girl, it's about who she is - this song is probably about a boy, but the boy described in the song reminds me of the girl I know. This boy is, by almost everybodies definition, a wierdo. Some might say, a creep. Has been many places that other people haven't. He does not have a perfect body, he has self mutilation, shattered veins from the drugs, and scars from times he can't even remember. His soul isn't perfect. He's seen things other people can't see, things in his mind. He has multiple personalities and the prozac doesn't help anymore. Hell, it never did. This boy sees a girl he likes. He thinks she's pretty, he loves the way she talks, she thinks, the way she handles matters and the way she looks at life. She stands out from the crowd as one of the most thoughtful and magical people he's ever seen. She is in a completely different world to him. She is, in his eyes, special. These two people, the boy who admires and is depressed without this girl. Is it love? He can't tell the difference between love, fear, hate and loathing any more. She is somehow introduced into his world but is scared away. She runs away. She's running out the door. She wouldn't be happy in his world. The end sums it up - he confirms everything he's been feeling. She couldn't stay because his world, and him, are too dark. Too fucked up. She wouldn't be happy in his world, and he regrets. By the way - the song I reviewed was the acoustic version. I much prefer it. Using the word "fuckin" in a song this beautiful is quite crude, in my eyes - in the acourstic version he says "very" instead of "fuckin". |
