| The Mars Volta – Concertina Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| lolol nikkie lmfao last time i checked the mars volta didn't have 'trendy' hair but alright | |
| The Mars Volta – Aberinkula Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| omar buried it, actually c: cedric asked that he not be told where it was buried, and i think supposedly the album is a story they heard through playing the 'soothsayer' board, who knows if its truuuu or not. glorious album though eek | |
| The Mars Volta – Conjugal Burns Lyrics | 18 years ago |
rofl avenged survive, i thought that's what he said too their new cd is incredible aughhh |
| The Used – The Bird and the Worm Lyrics | 18 years ago |
jeeeeez. chill kiddies. it's the first song, the single or whatever. personally i'm excited for the cd. in a lot of cases the singles are NOT the best songs on the cd. NIN always puts out singles that aren't as good as the other songs on the cd i think. but it's personal preference. i liiike i like. |
| Gorillaz – Happy Landfill Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| ahaha i'm sort of glad they didn't put this song on it. it would seem really out of place on the cd i think.. but i love this song anyway. | |
| Gorillaz – Stop The Dams Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Uhh.. i think this song is like.. hmm. how the world is so 'metal' now. everything is technology. the cling clang of it is in your head all the time because there's nothing else. people are taking out the natural-ness of the world and replacing it with metal. but i also think that this song could be about how some people's thoughts aren't their own anymore, and they can't think or speak for themselves anymore. i dunno, i can't really explain my.. explanation of the song..but it makes sense in my head. XD i really love this song though, especially the instruments used. is that a trumppeeett in some parts? |
| AFI – ...But Home Is Nowhere Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Well, it isn't three seperate tracks, but I think it is most definitely three seperate songs. Or..things. Since one is more of a poem, haha. | |
| Gorillaz – Starshine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Haha, reptile I agree. Those three songs are like my favorites from their self titled album. Dunno exactly what it's about, but 2D's voice is super raspy. Sounds real emotional.. very fitting to the song..and I love the instrumentals. Kinda industrial-y. |
| Gorillaz – El Mañana Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Ehh, just to say some stuff. Ahahaa. I don't think Gorillaz will be gone for good. I mean..for one, it took 4 years before Demon Days came out. Not to mention Damon Albarn (along with Jamie Hewlett, of course) started Gorillaz as a side project. And I think it's going to ALWAYS be a side project. Besides that, Albarn did this sort of thing with Blur all the time. Said that they were done. Through. No more Blur music. But he still made more music after that. (: And what I don't understand is.. if Feel Good Inc was a video, as in; not real in the Gorillaz universe, then why was El Manana real? Noodle's room was empty even before the El Manana video came out. ?? eh? eh? But I guess if they say she died.. well.. -shrug- she'll be back. And I bet Gorillaz will be at some point. |
| Gorillaz – Sound Check (Gravity) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
every song has a meaning, sometimes the meaning isn't all profound and stuff though. haha, fun song to listen to. love 2D's voice in it. |
| Gorillaz – El Mañana Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This has to be one of my absolute favorite songs on this cd. The song is so beautiful, and the video is just.. tragically gorgeous. No clue as to what it means..but it's beautiful. o_o | |
| Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc. Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i dunno but i love that the song before this, Dirty Harry, has the childrens laughter..which turns into the laughter in the beginning of this song. |
| Gorillaz – Clint Eastwood Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| No clue what it means, and don't care, but it's a good fuckin song to listen to. :B | |
| Silverchair – Cemetery Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This is my favorite Silverchair song. And I don't think they're Nirvana ripoffs, although I do think that they were possibly slightly inspired by Nirvana, as the sounds sometimes do sound alike. And the way Daniel sings. :o Plus, this song reminds me of Something IN the Way. But I think it's just the cello in it. Not sure what it means though...nice song to listen to however. |
| AFI – ...But Home Is Nowhere Lyrics | 20 years ago |
xxroadkilxx has it aaall correct. long read, but very worth it if youre a big AFI fan. :B |
| AFI – Ever And A Day Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Oh, and I noticed something. Isn't the number 3 something that pops up often in AFI songs? I could be wrong, but I dunno. o_o Maybe not. | |
| AFI – Ever And A Day Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This is probably my favorite of theirs right now, and I only just heard it recently. (Yeaaah, I'm fairly new to AFI in general.) I agree with the comment about how if you notice it's number four on the cd, and then it becomes 'Fo(u)r ever and a Day' after all, AFI always has meanings and strange things when it comes to how songs go, and what number they are, and how you play teh cd. Yep. |
| AFI – Death of Seasons Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This is one of my favorites on the cd..and the ending where Davey's voice echoes is amazing. My favorite part of the whole song. | |
| AFI – Head Like a Hole (Nine Inch Nails cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| oh and as an extra note. Age doesn't really matter too much. | |
| AFI – Head Like a Hole (Nine Inch Nails cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
salvationfound, settle down. People are giving their opinions, and they have reasons to back it up. No need to be so bitter towards them. I do like this as a Nine Inch Nails song better, however I also really like AFI's cover on it. I'll happily listen to both. |
| AFI – ...But Home Is Nowhere Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This is actually three seperate songs. ...But Home is Nowhere. And then the poem/song [Untitled] And then..I forgot the name of the last one. But whatever. Manxbass has it all correct, too. And to note, you start STS on the third song.. this represents life/being born. You can even hear breathing. Then you play it through(and this also fixes the fact that the two Leaving Songs were not in order..start at song three and they're in order) The whole cd itself is to be born, live, and die..and then live again(..well..not davey. But..the rest of us, maybe. :D;;; ) This is shown in the poem [Untitled]..at first a child speaks..and then a man(Davey)..and then an elderly man.. The actual death seems to take place in the song after the poem. Start the cd over to the first song.. You should get it by now. |
| David Bowie – I'm Afraid of Americans Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Aahaha, I absolutely love the music video for this song. Me and my friend got a kick out of it. Just seeing TRent running after Bowie all crazystyle. Hours of entertainment. ;D Good song, too. |
| Modest Mouse – The Good Times Are Killing Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I'll be honest. I didn't know who the hell Modest Mouse was until I heard Float On. I liked it. I'd liek to get some of their old cds, as well. I figure if what you guys say is true and that 'yeah Good New for people who Love Bad news is good but not as much as their older stuff...' then their older stuff must be amazing. Agreed with people about the drugs in the song. The meaning and such. I really like how on the cd they start it with some offhand before recording comments on how they want an ashtray. Aahaha, it amuses me. A favorite of mine from this cd. |
| The Postal Service – Brand New Colony Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Another favorite on this cd..riught up there with This Place is a Prison. God that cd's awesome. Doesn't particularly mean anything to me, but I agree with what people said about what the song actually means. |
| The Postal Service – This Place Is a Prison Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| My favorite song on the cd, for sure. | |
| Nirvana – Something in the Way Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This song..all it's really about is that sometimes he'd stay in some ruddy places. He claimed he lived under this bridge for awhile, and all the song is is explaining what he saw/felt at that time. He didn't really stay under there though. Krist even said that Kurt didn't, because the banks were too muddy and the waters would rise, making it impossible to 'live' there. But it makes for a nie song. :B and you can actually find the bridge. This is my favorite Nirvana song out of any of them. |
| Nirvana – Endless, Nameless Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Endless, Nameless was made when Kurt got pissed over one of the recordings for Nevermind was going.. he couldn't get one of the songs(I forget which one) right and so he just started doing this, and the band followed. :B Oddly, this is one of my favorites on the cd | |
| Nirvana – Clean Up Before She Comes Lyrics | 20 years ago |
It's a Kurt Cobain song. He wrote it. And yeah, it's about how he would have to clean up while his then girlfriend would go out or something. The vocals meld together really well on this, and it's definitely a favorite Nirvana song of mine. |
| Nine Inch Nails – Right Where It Belongs Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| And just to add, I too saw the same thing when I saw NIN. I love when there are projections showing images as Trent sings. They did it for a few other songs too..but I don't think the images were nearly as stirring as the ones for this song. | |
| Nine Inch Nails – Right Where It Belongs Lyrics | 20 years ago |
IN my opinion, this is by far the best song on With_Teeth. I went to see NIN when they came to Chicago, and I had heard the album through a friend, so I wasn't really familiar with all the songs because I hadn't heard them too many times..and this song stuck out right away. It was BEAUTIFUL live.. as to be expected. :3 I'm not sure what the song..-really- means, however to me it seems like.. he's saying that if you're alone or something, you try to create your own world, or a dream-like state or something. And you can live there..but all in all..you're still alone. Then again, I think this song was meant to be uplifting, so I'm pretty sure my meaning isn't what the song actually means ahaha. Just means it to me. For some reason I really like when the crowd noises start.. seems to mean something too..not sure what. And the ending is what gets me a lot of times. Incredible song.(ahaha, sorry for the rambly post) |
| Nine Inch Nails – Getting Smaller Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Definitely sounds like Foo Fighters. :D However as far as I know, the only song Dave Grohl did drumming on was aahh..The Collector(and you can tell). And Dave didn't do drumming for live shows.. Twiggy from Marilyn Manson did. Still sweet. And I actually reeally like this song...and the 'flip flop' lines. Maybe just because I find it amusing to hear the guy say it. No clue as to a meaning of it though.. |
| Nine Inch Nails – Beside You in Time Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Not my favorite on the cd, but like everyone said, it really leads up nicely to Right Where It Belongs(which is in fact my favorite on the cd :P) And yeah, it was awesome live. I saw NIN when they came to Chicago last month. :3 |
