these lines make me feel this is an anti-war song, soldiers wasting thier lives.
i think this bit-

is about the leader general chaps giving them rappy reasons to make them fight and die for them.
it kinda reminds me of the first world war- but i dunno if greece were involved, or if it is relevent anyway. |

has anyone else noticed that the musical composition of master of puppets is very similar to that of this song. opening with a rapid guitar riff with bass and drums added after a couple of bars, then with an amazing slow section in the middle with an amazing slow solo, and both finishing heavy. prehaps this is the key to awesome songs such as these.

in the original, jason's voice sounds quite good in the background. though in his earlier live concerts, his singing is quite foulsome and disgusting. yet comical!!
