| James Blunt – No Bravery Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I watched a concert he did on TV done specially for TV in the BBC studios, in between songs were video clips of him talking about each song and what it's about etc. For this song it is indeed to do with the war he had to fight in, and "he" actually refers to the devil, which i guess suggests that Satan has visited all these places and left destruction in his wake. Beautiful song. | |

This song sounds so beautiful. I think the lyrics are about a friend of his dying in front of him ("while I was watching"), with "dissolve" reffering to their life disappearing. The 2nd verse may be describing the connection that they had right before the friend passed away, and the state of mind that he had being virtually "hypnotised" as he focuses everything he has on his friend. (I'm not sure about this verse though) "Life in slow motion somehow it don't feel real" - He can't believe what is happening and everything seems to be happening in slow motion due to the shock and grief that he is feeling. When you lose someone you can sometimes feel like the world is not right anymore, and that you are isolated from everyone around you because they are not sharing your loss. "Snowflakes are falling I'll catch them in my hands" - From now on he will treasure all the precious things in life such as friendship, make the most of them while he can, and not take them for granted. "Now you're my long lost friend" - His friend is gone forever. That's my interpretation of the song, and whether it's right or not that's how I will think of it because it makes it very moving to listen to. |

These lyrics are slightly incorrect I think, but nevertheless it's a great song with an emotional meaning that I love. I think they're singing about how they never had any luck with women in their "early days" because of things getting fucked up, and that they've stayed like that for the rest of their lives with only their music to comfort them. "I settle for watching her dance" - they have no confidence, and feel like they dont stand a chance anymore. I think most people have had feelings like this when they haven't been able to get a boy/girlfriend, and feel like they should just stick with what they know best and become more of an introvert. I know I've felt like this before, and so I feel like I can relate to this song in a way. |

I love this song, it's really simple and emotional. I think the song is about wanting somebody who you can't have, maybe because they are taken by someone else or they are not sure if they like you back. I think it is talking about desperately wanting to make a move because of how attracted to them you are, but you know you can't. A girls eyes and lips are really big turn ons in my opinion which is what makes this song so powerful. |
