| Stars – The Night Starts Here Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
What the hell? How is this not Stars? Stars is notorious for their instrumentals, for their soft spoken lyrics, that reinforce a message throughout the entire song, the fact that they can captivate you with an entire song. This song is a beautiful way to start an album honestly. To go off what Silent-t said, I think it might be. Especially with the album title, and the opening lines that repeat "the night is here / forget your name / forget your fears" kind of allude to this sense of urgency. A "the time is now or never". They might have had sex the night before he left for the war; but I don't think the worry is so much in never seeing her lover again-- but with bringing a child in the middle of the war. "I have brought you here." |

| Damien Rice – Delicate Lyrics | 19 years ago |

when i heard this song, my heart nearly dropped and i began to cry. to me, it's about friends having discovered something more. a friendship turned into physical encounters. "We might kiss when we are alone When nobody's watching We might take it home We might make out when nobody's there It's not that we're scared It's just that it's delicate" he/she isn't sure why they're hiding but they are. it's something they want to share only amongst themselves. that intimate feeling and secret only two lovers know. one of them begins to get attached, wanting more than just this. but.. they can't pull away. so they sit there, questioning them in their head. "And why do you sing Hallelujah If it means nothing to you Why do you sing with me at all?" Why are you involved with me? |

| The Veronicas – Nobody Wins Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| A relationship gone wrong. With time, she can't recognize him or herself from what they've become. It's a mess of a relationship, she's hurting from it. He's treating her badly, deciding to fight and argue about things. He looses because these things hurt him- so he argues about them with her, and until she can fix it will he stop. But she doesn't want to, all she wants is to be happy, not have these arguments. Both aren't getting what they want. Nobody wins. | |
| The Veronicas – I Could Get Used To This Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think this song is really cute, I'm still not sure about my feelings toward The Veronicas, but I really love this song. Yeah, really because I can connect to it immensly with my relationship. But I think these lines: "I'm feeling it comin' over me With you it all comes naturally Lost the reflex to resist And I could get used to this" Reffers to the feelings of love. "I feel love all over my body." There's just that feeling of love you get, the jump, the glee, the happiness when you're overwhelemed with it. And usually you're just to stopping it before it gets the best of you. So you won't get hurt, you shield yourself from getting attached to the other person. But instead, she's lost the "reflex" to attack that feeling and instead... It's "all coming naturally". And surprisingly, she enjoys the feeling. |

| Alanis Morissette – Perfect Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Everytime I feel like I've failed; this song hits me to the point where I begin to cry. After continuous high expectations being fed to you, Alanis illustrates how we practically feel. How instead of a, "work harder." it translates into our mind that we're not good enough- "How long before you screw it up How many times do I have to tell you to hurry up With everything I do for you The least you can do is keep quiet" |

| Dispatch – Prince Of Spades Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This reminds me of the Chinese movie, To Live, the beginning of it which is rather depressing. In order to not spoil it, it follows a similar plot. A father who's never home for their kids, who spends his time gambling his life away-- while his wife is pleading for him to stop. For not only himself, but the responsibilities he has to his life now. But on a Dispatch view, this song is wow. The guitar, everything, the voice, breathtaking. |

| Modest Mouse – Make Everyone Happy/Mechanical Birds Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I absolutely love this song, "I'm not sure who I am I'm not sure who I am but I know who I've been And I said you can't make everybody happy He said you'd like to at least make yourself happy though I'm not sure who I am I'm not sure who I am but I know who I've been" My exact feelings, this song came on my ipod and I just froze. |
