| Ingunswetrust would be right if he has the lyrics right. PainfulLullaby posted the correct lyrics. | |

| I thought it was about suicide. That the pills to get rid of the pain just arn't enough, you need something more permanate to get rid of the pain. | |

I think the song has to do with dreams. day dreams spicifically. How someone may lay in bed at night and carry themself off to a dream land were all their problems are gon, and how it can be so much better than your life that alll you can do through the day is impationtly wait for nightime to day dream again. But i may be wrong |

I think the line: "How many times have you wished you were strong Have they ever seen your heart? Have they ever seen your pain?" is amazing. the idea that no one really has an idea of what you're going through, or vice versa. So many people doubt their strenght becuase they're compairing it to waht they see, since obviously you can't actually tell how someone else truly feels. |

I have to say that I believe the best lyrics in the song are: "They say that Jesus and mental health Are just for those who can help themselves But what good is that when you live in hell on earth?" because I really believe that people who haven't been in this sopt emotionally don't understand how sometime people can't help themselves. It really can be Hell on Earth for some people, and others just don't get that. |

I know the song is about so much more and this is a stupid way to relate to a song, but I relate to it because I'm lazy. My favorite line: "It’s a long way back home From just about anywhere Cause once through the door I’m not even halfway there" |

I don't care if it's for a Disney ride but when Ed sings: "Now don't close your eyes And don't try to hide Or a silly spook may sit by your side Shrouded in a daft disguise" it's scary as Hell :P |

I don't think the song has anything to do with King of the hill, they just decided to put that in the music video cause it's funny and BNL are funny people. Just remember that just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get you. |

| Barenaked Ladies – The Flag Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I really love this song, the music is beautiful. I've always taken it as a woman breaking free from an abusive relationship. At the beginning the man is apologizing for beating her, but using an excuse that he was drunk, which is not an excuse at all. The line "You've never really known, That when the white flag is flown, No one, no one, no one has won the war." Is a motto she lives by. Saying that forgiving him after he ‘flies the white flag’ for peace is not anyone winning, cause the abuse will just happen again. *the correct line is “she'll quietly say" not "he'll quietly say"* At the beginning when he says: "When the chequered flag comes down, No one, no one, no one has won the race. " is him getting her motto wrong, showing that he's arrogant and doesn't understand forgiving is not enough for what he has done. I imagine that at the end, when everything is passing by, is her breaking free, driving away, looking out the window and seeing it all fly by. Freedom at last. |

| Our Lady Peace – Stealing Babies Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I really do believe that this song is about God 'working in mysterious ways.' Especially because of this section: You're leaving pieces of family How are you going to help them understand I'm screaming while you're stealing babies Why do you want to knock us down again Why How should I say "I'm so sorry" How should I pray to know that we're alive In the last two lines-- It's definitely part of the Christian religion to ask for forgiveness, and then praying. I think the song is talking about how we say that God collected them so to say, not just kids, but when a adult gets cancer too. Or aids, or whatever. We're all Children of Adam and Eve. |
