Beautiful composition, love the end vocal chant. But what's all this crap about loving horses? I ain't down with the bestiality, Efrim, just letting you know. |

I agree with the 'having sex on drugs' comment. Space cadet - common colloqualism druggies use for themselves, preferring to think of themselves as explorers. Add that to the sketch-out factor of drugs, and you have 'SPACE CADET, PULL OUT' |

This song fucking hurts my ears. I love it, but it would be better without the high frequency ear drum bursting noise that occurs randomly through out it. |

This adds a new level of depth to the song for me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0psfMQsNus A friend's now deceased father made this for his wife while he had cancer. Incredibly poignant. |

| Radiohead – Creep Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I don't like this song much, It's uncomplicated, the lyrics are typical high school angst, the guitar work is unimaginative arpeggios and Thom's vocals aren't amazing in it. Personally, it's one of my least favourite songs by them. Don't get me wrong, I love Radiohead to death. But to be honest, their earlier stuff lacks the complexity and layering of OK Computer onwards. Also, what's with the absolutely terrible lyrics, jonesy250f_101? You might think you're very creative, but nobody wants to read that. Not only because it's crap, but because people come here to read about radiohead, not some whiny teenager with no rhyming ability. |

Quote: "And dude, one more thing, I dont' wanna diss your comment, but Thom is not on drugs, his appearance is bcuz lack of sleep and his past child hood traumas with his eye surgeries." Bullshit. Radiohead are big drug users, especially pot. Hell, on the DVD you can see Thom pinching a little bit of cannabis to roll a joint with. They have a 'no drugs in the studio' rule, sure, but they are huge drug users. Thom was party of the english committee for legalizing marijuana, for christ sakes. And you're going to tell me anyone could write 'Kid A' while completely sober? Hah, next you'll be telling me that Pink Floyd are avid anti-pot smokers. |

| Non-Prophets – The Cure Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Sage Francis isn't sexist at all, you can tell from his music. I'm pretty certain that it's a snipe at society, saying that lately in the world girls have been generalized into a stereotype of being neat, fancy and eloquent (hence cursive), and that boys are oafish and lack intellect (hence the sloppy mispelled words). I too think the song is about life in general, and how you should set yourself goals and achieve them (with all the talk about conquering summits and finding scriptures of blind men and stuff). But some of his comments make me wonder if he's being his usual sarcastic self, saying that people set goals for themselves and try and be ambitious but end up having the same goals as everyone else (die a normal death and write the average letter). To me, the first half is both build up and then revealed sarcasm, and then the last part of the song is more personal, relating to Sage and his experiences yet again, which are really hard to interpret. Some of the lines are pretty bleak in this song, like 'life's just a lie with an 'f' in it, and death is definite'. Great line though. Amazing song in general. Sage Francis remains my favourite lyricist. |

| Radiohead – Street Spirit (Fade Out) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I love Radiohead, but this song does not effect me in the absolute slightest. I find 'Motion Picture Soundtrack' to be infinitely more depressing. I'm kind of sad that I missed it, because I want to experience this 'sheer emotion' that you all seem to be getting. I'm getting nothing except a good song. | |
| Sage Francis – Crumble Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Great song, these lyrics are missing the bit where it all goes a bit extreme, though. The first part seems to be talking about the apocolypse, and this line: "And as long as i've known the bumps and creeks of this house It's starting to make the types of sounds that only comes from people's mouths" seems to be another reference to a haunted house (there were quite a few on Personal Journals). One can only assume he grew up or lives in a house that's haunted. Later on he appears to be talking to someone, and he seems to be thinking everything is a bit bleak and hopeless, but I'm not sure what it's really about. He seems to be talking about someone who did him wrong/lead him on, possibly a girl. Really, like all of his songs, there's a hell of a lot going on and it's impossible to understand it all. |

| Circle Takes the Square – Kill the Switch Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This song must be about dying. Like, being in a hospital bed and wanting to pull the plug ('killing the switch'). When you think about it like this a lot of it makes sense. But then, a lot of it still doesn't. Like the part about Red being a four letter word. God knows what that means. It's mostly the end that makes sense with the death theory: "Kill the switch, kill the switch, a welcome comatose, tonight we journey through the darkness. As in sorrow, so shall ye weep, as in reason, so shall ye sleep." At least, that's what I make out of it. |
