John Mayer – Waiting on the World to Change Lyrics 17 years ago
who hasn't felt like this over the past several years? i've been known to be very outspoken when it comes to politics and war-issues, and i often find myself thinking, 'well, you have all these ideas and opinions, but what are you doing with them?'
it's difficult feeling so useless when you know that if given a chance, you could offer some valuable insight. it's incredibly comforting to know that there are other people feeling the same way. and this song does an amazing job of getting that message out there, instead of trying to offer some seemingly obvious quick-fix for all the world's problems. john has really captured the big picture with this song.

Our Lady Peace – Wipe That Smile Off Your Face Lyrics 18 years ago
I think that it does indeed have a lot to do with George W. Bush, however when I recently saw OLP in Providence RI, Raine simply said that it's about a revolution. So while it does apply to Bush and his cabinet, it can also apply to any government that isn't fulfilling the wants and needs of its people.
That being said... this song is INTENSE live. Hopefully it will stay in their setlist for a long time, just like "Starseed" and a handful of their other classics.
